All but one of the Strikeforce Challengers 19 fighters have made their bouts official.
The official weigh-in ceremony for Friday’s Strikeforce Challengers 19 card took place today in the Key West Ballroom of Las Vegas’ Palms Casino Resort. This is said to be the last pre-fight event before the incoming Strikeforce’s show, which will be aired live on Showtime at 11 p.m. ET in The Pearl at Las Vegas, Nevada.
All fighters except one have hit their committed weights. Quinn Mulhern missed his 170-pound limit by coming in a whopping five pounds over the threshold. He will now face Danny Davis in a catchweight bout of 176.5-pounds.
Strikeforce Challengers 19 will be the promotion’s third MMA event in Las Vegas. Starting with the Strikeforce Challengers 17 card last July, all the upcoming Challengers Series will be held in The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the company confirmed that they will return to the venue on November 18 to host their final Challengers show for 2011.

Strikeforce's official weight-in will be on Friday afternoon at the Lone Star State, Texas. The weigh-in will features Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum, Josh Barnett and Brett Rogers as the main event and other fighter that will participate in the Strikeforce's card.
Saturday, at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Strikeforce’s heavyweight tournament will be held and all the fighters participating on the card will take the scales Friday. The event will be officially broadcast on Showtime and HDNet(prelims).
A rivalry will renew between Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum as their match would headline the event and even the Friday’s weigh-in gathering. The two fighters already met each other in the ring way back May 2006, with Werdum end the match with a submission over Overeem.Read the rest of the article »
