Another Gracie made his way to Fighting Insider's MMA Hall of Fame. Everybody, a round of applause for Rorion Gracie!
The older brother of Rickson Gracie, Royce Gracie and Royler Gracie was born on January 10, 1952. Rorion Gracie is the founder of Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is also one of the few people to hold a 9th degree red belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Rorion Gracie was also credited for bringing the No-Holds Barred Fighting in North America, and he has the record of fastest win in eight seconds.Read the rest of the article »
UFC on Versus 3 fighters stepped on the scale fast and easy. Let's get it on!
No can stop the supremacy of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. First, UFC 127 gained a “quite good” rating and second UFC 129 tickets were sold out the moment it came out and now, many people are looking forward for UFC on Versus 3.
Speaking of UFC on Versus 3, the official weigh-ins of the event took place in Louisville, KY last Wednesday. Main men for the event Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann both achieved their target weights making the fight more official that it may seem.
A few fighters stepped on the scale naked to make it to the weight limits. Most fighters made it to the scale fast and easy.
Here are the official weights for UFC on Versus 3 card, airing Thursday starting on Facebook at 8pm ET then moving to Versus at 9pm ET.

After the full year of success from the UFC Prelims broadcasts, the preliminary showdown goes back in 2011. The program is a one-hour special on Spike TV that features preliminary card fights and moves on to the PPV main-event.
Accroding to UFC President, Dana White, he expects the prelims to be back by next year. However, both the promotion and network have found the Prelims beneficiary. For one, UFC gets a last minute push over for PPV buys and Spike increases on ratings on primetime.
“We’ll get that figured out,” White said. “I love having the prelims on Spike TV. … It’s cool to give people some free fights and then have them bounce over (to the PPVs).
“It’s all about showcasing as many guys as possible.”
As of the moment, Spike TV has aired 12 UFC Prelims in all. The February broadcast of UFC 109 set the record of 1.7 million viewers.Read the rest of the article »
