Clay ‘The Carpenter’ Guida has no plans to go down to featherweight

Despite losing to Ben Henderson at the first UFC on FOX event last year, fan favorite, Clay ‘The Carpenter’ Guida has no plans to move down to the featherweight division.

In a recent interview, Guida talked about his recent loss to Henderson:

“I haven’t felt outmuscled even against Henderson – he just outpositioned me. Until that happens I don’t have a reason to go to 145. I’ve made my stake in the lightweight division and on June 22 I’ll make my stake even deeper. I’ve been here a long time and I want my lightweight belt before I make any moves.”

‘The Carpenter’ is set to fight Gray Maynard in the main event of the upcoming UFC on FX show that will take place on June 22, 2012.
