Just What You Would Expect when Sonnen Talks

Written on September 15, 2010 by Clive Wilson

Chael Sonnen made a comeback in a snap.

UFC middleweight champion defeated Chael Sonnen, but the latter’s pre-fight talk was one of the most talked about in the UFC history. And with rumors of a pre-fight intensifying, it did not become hard for Sonnen to roll down the UFC Fight Club Q&A session in Austin, Texas.

He had tons of things to mouth about some of the fighters he had faced in his career. He got this to say about his previous competitor: “Is Anderson here right now? I’ll kick his ass from Austin all the way to San Antonio! … He’s a very good fighter. He’s got a lot of skills. He’s just not as good as me. He’s not the best guy in the world. He never has been. He’s a sham.”

Other fighters he slinged mud to were, among others, Brock Lesnar–“If Brock Lesnar was here right now, I’d take my boot off and throw it at him”–Michael Bisping–He goes out and fights hard. … But he’s managed to rub people the wrong way.”

After the session, it was interesting to note that Sonnen stood side-by-side with Silva in an autograph session at an Austin sporting goods store.
