After being out of the active competition scene since last year, Cain Velasquez is possible to make an Octagon comeback on October.
Last Friday, UFC announced that their next Fan Expo will take place at Houston, Texas on October 7 and 8. The following day, Dana White hinted that they might have found the card’s main event. If people will based it on the UFC president’s reaction, a Cain Velasquez’s title defense is something that they’re taking into consideration.
Last year, Cain Velasquez was able to snatch the UFC heavyweight title from Brock Lesnar. However, he acquired a shoulder injury that requires mending — landing him out of the scene since then.
Dana White already alluded on the champion’s possible return earlier in the week. And with the UFC Houston event penciled for October, it seems like the right time for Cain Velasquez’s title defense.
Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos will battle for a shot on the title at UFC 131 on June 11 in Vancouver, after their TUF 13 coaching stint. Then, assuming everyone is healthy and good to go, UFC can set the title fight for the UFC Houston event.View Article Source »

The Ultimate Fighting Championship puts an 'X' mark on July 2 for its Las Vegas event. However, the July Fan Expo is not yet confirmed.
The UFC organization will hold an event on July, however the UFC Fan Expo is not yet on the list.
Close sources said UFC may not yet pursue a previously discussed July UFC Fan Expo event at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center though the company still intends to host a fight card at the same place on July 2. Though the company has not yet confirmed the event, the July fight will most likely be UFC 132.
Sources could not say any significant insights on real reason why UFC hasn’t finalized booking of the first U.S.-based UFC Fan Expo of 2011, it is widely believed that UFC officials simply looks for a later date this year. It is because somehow the event coincides with the first-ever Canadian UFC Fan Expo together with April’s UFC 129 event.View Article Source »
