James Head (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC), on the other hand, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt holder who started training in 2008. "With Barao, everyone is raving about him and it’s my job to find out if he is the real deal." --- Brad Pickett
Brad Pickett is looking forward to UFC 138, as it will mark his promotional debut against Renan Barão. However, he slightly tempers his enthusiasm since he has been in this position before.
But one thing is for sure, Brad Pickett – albeit very keen to be back in action after his injury – is both disappointed for not having a shot against Miguel Torres and relieved that he had overcome his affliction. Moving on and focusing on his training for UFC 138, Brad Pickett is remarkably relaxed about Renan Barão’s fearsome reputation and 26-fight win streak.Read the rest of the article »

A battle of Jake's are said to come this fall, as Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger are said to face at the rumored UFC 138 card.
After his unanimous decision loss to Georges St-Pierre last April, Jake Shields will reportedly face Jake Ellenberger next. Sources close to the match-up revealed that both fighters agreed to meet this fall, while the venue is not yet certain. However, it is possible that UFC will set the bout on November 19 in San Jose, California. The event is also said to be UFC 138, albeit the promotion hasn’t made it official yet.
The Jake Shields vs Jake Ellenberger fight is a match that the latter is not ashamed to ask for. Last May, Jake Ellenberger told the media that he wants to fight Jake Shields, and he also believes that he has what it takes to beat the notable MMA fighter.
For the first time, Jake Shields was defeated and his 15-fight win streak was snapped by Georges St-Pierre. On the other hand, Jake Ellenberger is carrying a four-fight win streak — including his first-round knockout victory over Sean Pierson at UFC 129.
Will Jake Shields be able to redeem his loss this time? Or will Jake Ellenberger improve his record with a five-fight win streak after the match?View Article Source »

Los Angeles Times announced the tentative schedule of UFC 138, wherein Junior Dos Santos will compete against Cain Velasquez for the first time.
After a long break, heavyweight champion – Cain Velasquez – is now ready to put his title on the line. He will battle Junior Dos Santos for the first time at UFC 138, which will be held on Novemeber 19, 2011 at the HP Pavillion in San Jose, Calif.
After finishing Brock Lesnar during UFC 121 last year, Cain Velasquez has not yet been committed in any fights. This is because he suffered from a severe injury on his shoulder, which required him to undertake a minor surgery. On the other hand, since his début way back in 2008, contender Junior Dos Santos has been literally breaking bones, cracking skulls, and winning several titles. He takes pride in having seven consecutive victories, and finishing five of the most renowned and greatest fighters in the industry. In a recent match, Junior “Cigano” Dos Santos finished Shane Carwin through a unanimous decision at UFC 131. He won the title of second best heavyweight champion in their division.
