Two UFC talents will have more chance to showcase their MMA skills, as Carlos Condit and Benson Henderson renew their contracts with the promotion.
First Round Management President, Malki Kawa, announced that former WEC champions – Carlos Condit and Benson Henderson – signed multi-fight contract extensions under UFC. However, the terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Carlos Condit has won four consecutive bouts, notching victories over Jake Ellenberger, Rory MacDonald, Dan Hardy, and Dong Hyun Kim. He will have a pivotal battle contra BJ Penn this October 29 for UFC 137. Meanwhile. Benson Henderson has looked sharp in his UFC career, bringing him on the verge on UFC title contention. He has won 12 of his last 13 bouts.

Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone will replace Sam Stout to face Dennis Silver for UFC 137
Sam Stout was forced out of his upcoming bout against Dennis Silver for UFC 137– which will take place in Las Vegas. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone stepped in to replace him. The new match was confirmed by sources that was close to the match-up on Monday.
Donald Cerrone might soon give the Miller brothers a run for their money for a fighter who steps in on short notice when someone is injured. The said fight will be the second out of Cowboy’s last three fights, wherein he has stepped in for another injured fighter. Since moving over from WEC to the UFC, Donald Cerrone has gone 3-0 with rapidly improving his skills every step of the way.
During his recent trip in the Octagon, Cowboy made a short work of his opponent — Charles Oliveira. The latter was defeated during the first round of their UFC on Versus 5 bout in Milwaukee.

A lightweight showdown between Ramsey Nijem and Danny Boy Downes was verbally agreed upon for the upcoming UFC 137: St-Pierre vs Diaz tourney.
The upcoming UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz fight card is almost complete. UFC president, Dana White, announced on Thursday that a lightweight showdown between Daniel “Danny Boy” Downes against “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 13 runner-up, Ramsey Nijem, was verbally agreed to.
Daniel Downes, which has a career stats of 8-2, could really use a victory after dropping a unanimous decision to Jeremy Stephens at the TUF 13 finale last June. While his opponent, Ramsey Nijem – with a career stats of 4-2 – has the added leeway that is usually obtained by fighters coming from the popular reality series. However, the leeway doesn’t last for a long period of time. This means that Ramsey Nijem must establish himself as a part of the promotion by winning his upcoming match against Danny Boy.

Matt Mitrione is considered to be one of the most powerful knockout fighters, as he looked much better everytime he steps in the Octagon. He also have a flawless record, including his recent victory at UFC on Versus 4 over Christian Morecraft. On the other hand, Cheick Kongo also fought in the UFC on Versus 4, where he showcased one of the most memorable comeback victory in the history of promotion. Two UFC heavyweight fighters are slated for a critical match, as Roy Nelson and Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic are set to face each other at UFC 137 to redeem their respective career.
In a ‘loser leaves town’ match, Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic announced in a Croatian sports show – Gol – that he is set to face Roy Nelson at UFC 137. Both fighters are coming from multiple setbacks, with Roy Nelson carrying back-to-back losses from Junior Dos Santos at UFC 117 and Frank Mir at UFC 130.
Meanwhile, a win is also critical for Cro Cop, as he was knocked out for the second consecutive time at UFC 128 against Brendan Schaub. After sending several messages back and forth in a social network, Carlos Condit and B.J. Penn both agreed to face each other inside the Octagon on October.
It seems that Carlos Condit and B.J. Penn are about to face each other inside the Octagon for an October bout, after exchanging messages on a social network with their fellow top ten welterweight — Jon Fitch. Carlos Condit sent a challenge to B.J. Penn, with the latter accepting it quickly. Now, the UFC is on board to set a match between the two fighters.
Carlos Condit’s manager, Malki Kawa, said in an interview that UFC matchmaker – Joe Silva – is now in the process to schedule a fight between the two welterweight contenders. However, even if the two fighters agreed to face each other on October, the match’s date is still undetermined. According to sources, UFC is planning to have a third event in October which will be set between the two shows currently scheduled.
The two scheduled shows for October are the UFC 136 on October 8 in Houston Texas, and UFC 137 on October 29 that will feature the bout between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz in Las Vegas. If there will be another event on October aside from the said tournaments, it might be a UFC Fight Night show.

As expected, UFC is planning to schedule UFC 137: GSP vs Diaz on October 29. The promotion has applied to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to hold the tournament on that date in the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
