Rivals Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber named as coaches of The Ultimate Fighter Season 15

Shortly after the end of its 14th season, the long-running mixed martial arts reality show, The Ultimate Fighter has already named bantamweight rivals Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber as the next coaches for the upcoming season 15.

Cruz who defeated his biggest rival Urijah last July via unanimous decision is now the UFC bantamweight champion while the latter still remains as a top contender.
“To get a chance to coach TUF and beat Faber again is all the motivation I need. This is going to be an insane season of The Ultimate Fighter.” Cruz said in a recent press release.

The Ultimate Fighter Goes International with Philippines

Good news to all Filipino MMA fans! UFC officials are planning to start their TUF international editions in the Philippines, and it's likely to happen this year.

During a media conference call yesterday, UFC President – Dana White – laid out the plans of featuring Filipino fighters in the promotion’s first international edition of “The Ultimate Fighter”. First launched in 2005 on Spike TV, each TUF installment has been based in the US.

However, UFC execs are putting together an expansion plan to spread the reality series world-wide.

Three International TUF Editions on 2011

Ultimate Fighting Championship’s “The Ultimate Fighter” show goes international this 2011, and three new countries will get a version of the popular reality series. UFC’s big boss, Dana White, confirmed today about the plans they have for TUF after the UFC 124 pre-event press conference. Unfortunately, Canada won’t be one of those three new offerings, but White said the MMA-crazed country likely will be fourth in line.

MMA Awards Officially Airs on Versus

The much-anticipated award giving body for Mixed Martial Arts are little by little becoming official. The Fighters Only MMA Awards 2010 will air on Versus and former ESPN reporter Molly Qerim will be Randy Couture's co-host.

For the second MMA Awards ceremony, Versus station will be the one to air the event. It was announced and disclosed by officials today.

This 2010 World MMA Awards is a black-tie ceremony which will take place on Dec. 1 in Las Vegas. A taped version of the event will air Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT) on Versus.

Fighters Only has announced earlier this year that UFC Hall of Famer and known legend, Randy Couture, will host the ceremony. His co-host will be Molly Qerim, former ESPN “MMA Live” host and reporter who works for Versus now.

Stephan Bonnar Out to Fight at the TUF 12

The epic hero of light heavyweight fights, more so in the season finale of "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 1, Stephan Bonnar, will have to brave another battle in TUF 12.

Contracts have not been signed but confirmations have reached us that Bonnar is appearing on the TUF 12 finale against Croatian Igor Pokrajac.

The TUF 12 finale is reportedly taking place at The Pearl, Palms Resort Casino, Las Vegas on December 4. This season will feature 28 lightweight competitors and will launch on September 15 with coaches welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck.

Bonnar’s promising record to date is created by his breakthrough on a three-time losing streak, where he dropped Krzysztof Soszynzki down via a second-round TKO at the UFC 116. He was awarded a $75,ooo fight of the Night bonus in this win. His competitor Pokrajac is coming out fresh from his first UFC win from James Irvin last month.

The UFC Prelims Returns on UFC 121

A special UFC Prelims is gonna hit the octagon on October 23.

UFC 121 card will give us a “UFC Prelims” special, let’s rejoice. Spike TV confirmed to MMAjunkie today. Officials from the network announced that the special feature is on UFC 121 who features Ryan Jensen vs Court McGee and Patrick Cote vs Tom Lawlor. The fight will take place on October 23 at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. Introducing the heavyweight champion brock lesnar and Cain Velasquez.

McGee (10-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made TUF 11 a fairytale ending when he came back from an early round loss to Nick Ring and defeated James Hammortree and Brad Tavares, earning a spot on the finale. He also submitted fellow fighter Kris McCray and earned the title of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

On the other hand, Jensen (15-6 MMA, 2-4 UFC) was on top during his recent UFC performance when he scored by guillotine-choke victory over Jesse Forbes at UFC 114 to win “Submission of the Night” honors. Beforehand he also had a submission victory over Steve Steinbess. He made two appearances in 2007 and lost via submission to Thales Leites and Demian Maia at UFC 47 and UFC 77.

Shark Fights 13 – Power Pack Fight of 2010

Fighters from various organizations will come to compete for the ultimate Shark Fights 13 bout on September 11 at Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum in Texas.

Veteran fighters had joined the Shark Fight Promotion, an MMA fight promotion company. Now, they are about to launch the Shark Fights 13 bout card. As promised, it was highly participated by UFC, StrikeForce, Pride, EliteXC and Dream Veterans. The fight will take place on September 11 at Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum in Texas.

Weeks ago, Shark Fight Promotions started revealing the competitors on the Shark Fights 13 card. It has been the most anticipated card in the history of the organization and one of the most hypertensive line up in 2010.
