Leonard Garcia vs Nam Phan Rematch, Added to UFC 136 Fight Card

Nam Phan and Leonard Garcia will finally have their much-awaited rematch at next month's UFC 136 event.

Nam Phan is now slated to face his fellow featherweight, Leonard Garcia, in a rematch following the controversial TUF 12 Finale fight. Phan was supposed to face Matt Grice at the upcoming event, replacing the injured Josh Grispi. However, Grice was forced to withdraw from the card due to an injury.

UFC officials announced that verbal agreements have been set for the rematch. UFC 136 is scheduled on October 8 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The main card, which will be aired on pay-per-view, is highlighted by the lightweight championship bout between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. There are also two fights booked for Spike TV’s “UFC Prelims” special, and five bouts to be aired on Facebook.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale Fighters: Clean and Drug-Free

Good news! The Ultimate Fighter 12 fighters who underwent drug examination last month all came out clean and drug-free. The Nevada State Athletic Commission confirmed yesterday the news.

All the TUF 12 Finale fighters who underwent drug testing earlier this month came out clean. The Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer confirmed yesterday the result.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale took place last Dec. 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort and aired on Spike TV with a “TUF 12″ tournament finale between Jonathan Brookins and Michael Johnson.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale is a Success

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale concluded last week at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas which garnered as large audience participation and $380K live gate.Since the time it started, TUF has always been a success to UFC. Now, people can't wait for the TUF 13 on March 2011.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale concluded last Dec. 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and the night’s main card aired on Spike TV.

UFC officials initially estimated 1,622 attendance and had the live-gate figure of $380,025 on the dot. Out of the 1,903 attendees, 1,178 purchased tickets, and 725 received complimentary tickets (239 went unsold). The average paid-ticket price was $322.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale Medical Suspensions

TUF 12 Finale had a series of good fights, but with good fights surely there are injuries and scars left. Luckily, only seven fighters were suspended due to medical reasons and nothing serious took place. Below is the list of the injured fighters and their injuries.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale gave out a fair share of fights, but surely there’s still a couple of fighters that will undergo into an unfortunate medical suspension. But unlike other fights, this time there are only just seven fighters that will suffer the suspension. Nothing too serious though two of them, Jonathan Brookins and Ian Loveland, could be out for up to six months. The list of medical suspended fighters came from Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale took place this past Saturday at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and on Spike TV.

Brookins was issued his medical suspension despite the fact that he claimed the “TUF 12″ crown with a decision win over fellow finalist Michael Johnson. Brookins needs to have his left foot X-rayed before he’s cleared. If the foot is indeed fractured, Brookins must be cleared by an orthopedic doctor or remain outside the cage until June 3, 2011

Demian Maia Leads the $398,000 TUF 12 Finale Payroll

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale Fighters went home with a pocket full of worked for dollars that they definitely deserve. TUF 12 Finale disclosed that they gave out $398,000 payroll to their fighters as TUF 12 concluded. Leading the hundred dollars line is top contender Demian Maia.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale event concluded with the blast and dollar sign. UFC middleweight contender Demian Maia was named top earner on last Saturday’s event with $80,000 on his pocket.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission today unveiled the total salary payroll of the fighters. The total disclosed payroll for the Dec. 4 show was $398,000.

Other top earners from the evening include winners Stephan Bonnar ($62,000), Leonard Garcia ($32,000) and Rick Story ($26,000), as well as main-card losers Kendall Grove ($28,000) and Johny Hendrickcs ($22,000).

Phan’s TUF Loss is a Blessing in Disguise

As based on what was aired last Saturday, Nam Phan lost his UFC debut. But as far as he is concerned, that sole defeat on his resume means a lot of victory. At the TUF 12 Finale, the judges scored 30-27 for Nam Phan, but two 29-28 for Garcia. This left Nam Phan, the audience and the television viewers stunned. But for him, what transpired isn’t so bad, after all.

The Ultimate Fighter is Jonathan Brookins

“On behalf of myself, the UFC, congratulations, you are the Ultimate Fighter.”

Jonathan Brookins got to hear this word from Dana White’s mouth when he was declared the winner of the “The Ultimate Fighter Season 12” finale in Las Vegas.

Brookin struggled during the first round. He received continuous punches from Michael Johnson. He was stunned but he did not give up.

On round two, Brookins made his move. He quickly worked his way to dominate Johnson. He positioned on top of Johnson and dropped several elbows on his head.

Come round three, Brookins gave his best in grounding and pounding his opponent.

“My career still has a lot to improve on. I just want to invite everyone to come along for the ride with me.”

Cody McKenzie vs Aaron Wilkinson Slated for TUF 12 Finale

This Saturday concludes the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 12. It can now be determined who got the excellent coaching ability: Is it UFC Champion Georges St. Pierre or top contender Josh Koscheck? This Saturday fight features Cody McKenzie vs Aaron Wilkinson who both carry an undisputed record.

This Saturday’s “The Ultimate Fighter 12,” will feature quarterfinalists which include from Team Georges St. Pierre, Cody McKenzie (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and from Team Josh Koscheck, Aaron Wilkinson (6-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC). The quarterfinalists will be meeting on the show’s live finale this weekend.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale will take place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and the night’s main card airs on Spike TV.

McKezie, who represent Team GSP, scored with submission wins over Amir Khillah and Team Koscheck hand-picked, Marc Stevens to advance to the quarterfinals. Nevertheless, he fell short in that round when semifinalist Nam Phan stopped him with a few good strikes in the second round.
