After being defeated by Clay Guida, Anthony "Showtime" Pettis still hopes that he would get his title shot.

Despite his loss at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale last Saturday, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis refuses to down himself and lament the loss of the promised title shot.

Clay ” The Carpenter” Guida, with a career status of 29-11, shut down Anthony Pettis’ showtime to championship with a great performance in Las Vegas. Even if the latter is dangerous to anyone that stand on his way to the title shot, Clay Guida, his solid submission game, and his trainer Greg Jackson, did a great job by exposing Anthony Pettis’ weakness — wrestling defense.

Anthony Pettis was asked if he regrets fighting Clay Guida than waiting for his title shot and he answered “not at all, I feel I had some holes in my game, and Clay Guida and Greg Jackson did a great job of having a good game plan. I’ve got to go back to the drawing board and get better there.”

It's a big UFC 125 fight between The Fireball Kid and The Carpenter. Fans are definitely in for a steaming hot New Year's day tourney, as the Guida vs Gomi bout is added to the UFC 125 card.

Clay Guida confirmed, during an appearance in ESPN 1000’s MMA Tonight last Sunday, that he’ll be facing Takanori Gomi at UFC 125. Guida already gave a hint about this upcoming match in his tweeter last month. According to his tweet, his next fight will be a “big one” versus a man with “a lot of power in his hands”.

“[Gomi was] One of my favorite fighters growing up watching MMA…I look up to him, and I’m going to look forward to picking him up off the ground after I ground and pound him into the canvas.”

This year, Guida has gone 2-0 after gaining submission victories against Shannon Gugerty and Rafael Dos Anjos. Takanori Gomi, on the other hand, was choked out by Kenny Florian in his UFC debut last March. But Gomi was able to redeem himself after knocking Tyson Griffin in UFC Live: Jones vs Matyunshenko event.

Can Takanori “The Fireball Kid” Gomi heat up the fight for Clay “The Carpenter” Guida?
