Isaac DeJesus and Georgi Karakhanyan is set for a featherweight title match at Tachi Palace Fights 11.

Tachi Palace Fights’ Jeremy Luchau announced on Monday that Isaac DeJesus would step in the cage against Bellator veteran, Georgi Karakhanyan, for a featherweight title match at TPF 11.

Isaac DeJesus won the Tachi featherweight title at TPF 3, but never had an official defense of his belt. A supposed title defense against Rob McCullough came afterwards, but ended being a catch weight match since the latter came in larger than required. Unfortunately, Isaac DeJesus lost the match, and it was followed by a submission loss from Micah Miller.

However, he was able to knocked out Russ Miura at TPF 9, but the result was ruled to No Contest by the CSAC. It was after Isaac DeJesus tested positive to marijuana, which subsequently stripped off his title belt. At TPF 11, Isaac DeJesus will attempt to retrieve his title against Georgi Karakhanyan — who has a modest 2-2 record during his Bellator tenure.

More updates on TPF 11 are sure to come, so just keep it posted here at Fighting Insider.

After an appeal filed to the California State Athletic Commission, the Tachi Palace Fights bout between Russ Miura and Isaac DeJesus has been motioned to “no decision.”

After Isaac DeJesus tested positive for Marijuana following his bout against Russ Miura at Tachi Palace Fights, the latter’s management team made an appeal last May 6 at the California State Athletic Commission. Then on Monday, the CSAC made the ruling to ‘No Decision’.

CSAC executive – George Dodd – explained that because the Tachi Palace Fights tournament had taken place, they could not rule a bout to no contest. Hence, the commission opted to call the bout a No Decision. Under Section 386 of the California Code of Regulations, the commission can overturn the decision in a fight. Based on the recently amended rules, a bout can be overturned in case a participant tested positive for a banned substance.

Fortunately, the motion was seconded and carried without further interruptions.

Sorry fans! But no Ulysses Gomez vs Jussier da Silva fight is in the horizon. However, you can expect a Darrell Montague vs Ian McCall title defense bout in the works.

It seems that MMA fans will not see a Ulysses Gomez vs Jussier da Silva bout in the coming days, as Darrell Montague took the championship belt from Gomez last Friday at TPF 8. After his defeat, former flyweight champion – Ulysses Gomez – would like a rematch against Montague. However, the current champ sees no point of putting Gomez in the front line.

“No disrespect to Ulysses, but there’s other challengers that deserve a shot at the belt more than he does. The judges saw it just like I did – all five rounds going to me. So yeah, I’d like to have new challengers.”
