Strikeforce Challengers 19 now has main event, as Lorenz Larkin faces Virgil on September 23.
Strikeforce Challengers 19 now has a headline match, as Lorenz Larkin will face Virgil Zwicker in a light heavyweight duel on September 23. Also featuring the return of Ryan Couture in the cage, the said event will go down at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Lorenz Larkin is carrying a 11-0 professional record, and has exhibited an effective – though unorthodox – striking by the longest mile in his two Strikeforce stint against Scott Lighty and Gian Villante.
Virgil Zwicker, on the other hand, made his Strikeforce debut last October against Lavar Johnson — wherein he got his first stoppage defeat. He rebounded afterwards against Brett Albee during the Diaz vs Daley show in April.

Strikeforce officials released an updated line-up of main and preliminary cards for September 24's Strikeforce Challengers 16.
After some adjustments due to certain injuries, Strikeforce officials already announced that they had once again completed the line-up for the “Strikeforce Challengers 16: Fodor vs. Terry” event, which will be held this June 24 (Friday).
The said Strikeforce event will take place at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington, and will feature exciting face-off matches, including Caros Fodor (8-2 MMA, 3-0 SF) vs. James Terry (10-2 MMA, 5-1 SF) and Ryan Couture (2-0 MMA, 2-0 SF) vs. Matt Ricehouse.
For a ticket price of only $25 (available at ShoWareCenter.com), viewers could also have the chance to see several main-card contests. This includes Lorenz Larkin (10-0 MMA, 1-0 SF) vs. Gian Villante (7-2 MMA, 0-1 SF), Jason High (13-3 MMA, 0-0 SF) vs. Quinn Mulhern (15-1 MMA, 0-0 SF), and Julia Budd (1-1 MMA, 1-1 SF) vs. Germaine de Randamie (2-1 MMA, 1-1 SF) for the female section. Ryan Couture is heading back to Washington, as he faces Matt Ricehouse at Strikeforce Challengers 16 this Friday.
For Ryan Couture, Las Vegas is indeed a destination where lives can change. He left his job as a bank supervisor in Bellingham, Washington three years ago, and moved to Las Vegas to train for MMA full time. And it seems that the move has turned out well.
This Friday, Ryan Couture will return to his old home state for a lightweight match against Matt Ricehouse at Strikeforce Challengers 16. As the son of UFC Hall of Fame inductee, Randy Couture, Ryan Couture always gets support from his audience — both as an amateur and as a professional. And while guessing that around 100 members of his family will be in attendance on Friday, he expects to get the same support his father gained during the MMA icon’s UFC 102 match against Antonio Nogueira in Washington.

“I desperately want to knock somebody out. I want to know what that feels like. I thought I might have had it in my last fight with the knockdown but Lee (Higgins) popped back up. One of these times I’ll land that perfect combination.”
Ryan Couture continues his father's legacy, as he faces Matt Ricehouse on Strikeforce Challengers 16.
Following his father’s footsteps, Ryan Couture – the son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture – will face Matt Ricehouse at Strikeforce Challengers 16 on June 24 at Kent, Washington. The said event will flag a Caros Fodor vs. James Terry bout as the main event.
Last August, Ryan Couture defeated Lucas Stark through a triangle choke within 75 seconds. After his first MMA victory comes a submission win over Lee Higgins last February. Meanwhile, Matt Ricehouse – who is also a newbie in the MMA – has just started fighting as a pro in January last year. He already fought twice on Strikeforce undercard. Matt Ricehouse’s 4-0 record is composed of two knockout decisions, one decision and one submission wins.View Article Source »
