Fight fans will decide on who will share the cover of the newest UFC game with Jon Jones

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones finally bagged the slot of a UFC video game cover after losing his spot to Anderson Silva in 2011. He will now join the company of Brock Lesnar, Forrest Griffin and Anderson Silva as fighters who became faces of the game. The UFC and EA Sports made the announcement this Monday and they confirmed that Jones will appear in the cover of EA’s inaugural UFC game along with another fighter who will be determined through a voting process.

Team Rousey and Team Tate are tied with 3 wins a piece after the 7th episode of TUF 18

The seventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter 18 features the third quarter finals match in the men’s division. Team Tate’s Josh Hill and Team Rousey’s Michael Wootten will battle for the third spot in the semifinals round.

One of the highlight of the episode aside from the match is perhaps Tate’s and her coaching staff’s pranks that involves posting insulting photos of Rousey and her assistant coach Edmond Tarverdyan around the gym. Dana White tore down all the photos to prevent additional tensions between the two coaches. However, he forgot to tear one photo and it ended in the hands of Ronda Rousey. Rousey was fuming mad upon seeing the photos and called Tate a racist for doing such things.

Conor “The Notorious” McGregor extends his notoriety outside of the cage when he twitted a sexual joke that involves TUF coaches Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate. The fast talking featherweight prospect was answering regular tweets from followers until this question came his way.

“@TheNotoriousMMA one night before the world ends…Ronda or Miesha?”

McGregor could opt to ignore the question but to the surprise of many, he responded with a lyric from Dr. Dre’s “Let’s Get High” that he later regretted.

In the sixth episode of TUF 18, Racquel Pennington and Jessamyn fought in all out war that would rival the classic battle between TUF pioneers Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar. It was revealed early in the show that Pennington and Duke were supposed to face each other even before the start of TUF 18. Duke is scheduled to fight Pennington in her first professional fight but she pulled out with the recommendation of her coach.

Cris “Cyborg” Justino is perhaps the best female fighter in the planet and is unquestionably the best that is not fighting under the UFC banner. Cyborg, now 28 years old is the current Invicta FC women’s featherweight titleholder and former Strikeforce featherweight champion. She has won all of her fights after losing her professional debut.

In 2009, Cyborg ended the reign of Gina Carano as the queen of MMA. She easily disposed Carano and stopped the latter with punches towards the end of the first round of their battle. It was the start of her era as the MMA’s new queen. She later sparked a rivalry with Strikeforce and now UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

Team Rousey's latest win evens up the scores at 2 - 2

The fifth episode of The Ultimate Fighter featured a quarterfinals showdown in the men’s division. It was between Team Rousey’s 2nd pick David Grant and Team Tate’s 4th pick replacement Louis Fisette. The two were talking to each other in their shared room earlier in the episode and has agreed that there will be no bad blood between them after the fight.

They were later shown in their respective training camps. Fisette pointed out that there is a lot at stake for him coming into the bout and promised to make the most of his second chance. He was defeated by his team mate Chris Holdsworth in the preliminary fight but was later chosen by Meisha Tate as replacement for Tim Gorman.

Cat Zingano’s doctor, Dr. Ronald S. Kvitne of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic has stated that Cat’s right knee is healing well and is nearing full recovery. However, the undefeated fighter might be suffering from a torn meniscus in her left knee.
“Cat is now three months out from her right knee anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. She’s three months out; her knee looks great. She’s got almost perfect motion, got great strength and excellent stability. She’s about three months from getting back in the ring and starting to spar.” Dr. Kvitne stated in a video Zingano posted on her Facebook page.
