ProElite just held its first MMA event last Saturday at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. The crowd was filled with excitement and thrills, as most participants performed their quick finishes.
In the night’s main card, UFC fighter – Kendall Grove – listed his name on the win column after defeating Joe Riggs through a submission victory. The latter forced the former up against the cage, but his neck was immediately caught by Kendall Grove’s long arms. The former UFC Fighter won the bout via guillotine choke, just 59 seconds into the first round.
Following four consecutive losses, Andrei Arlovski has attained the title belt once again. He finished heavyweight fighter Ray Lopez through a TKO during the third round of the match. Although Andrei Arlovski wasn’t able to defeat Ray Lopez in a quick manner, he still grabbed the evening’s spotlight after getting on top of his contender and defeating him with powerful punches.
BJ Penn’s younger brother, Reagan Penn, also made his promotional debut remarkable. Through having his brother’s support and fighting tips, Reagan Penn attained the victory over Paul Gardner. The newcomer impressively pulled the latter into the mat, and finished him using a rear-naked choke technique in just 70 seconds after the bell rings.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua finally made his revenge on Forrest Griffin after winning the light heavyweight battle last Saturday.
After his title lost to Jon Jones at UFC 128, Maurcio “Shogun” Rua won his bout against Forrest Griffin at the UFC 134 last August 27. This victory served as his revenge for the man who defeated him during his UFC debut.
Watching the fight that took place on Saturday night in Brazil, no one would even recognize the Mauricio “Shogun” Rua who fought Forrest Griffin the first time. He seems like a bull that charged forward and was relentless with his attack on his opponent. Once Forrest Griffin fell to the ground, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua was on him like a pitbull and launched a blitzing series of hammer fist which ended the bout.
It was exactly the type of homecoming Mauricio “Shogun” Rua wanted to have, as he fought in front of his fans in Brazil. For the long time veteran of Pride and the UFC, getting a win like that at UFC 134 was everything he could have hoped for. The Last Emperor’s reign may finally be over, as Dan Henderson earned a first round TKO win over Fedor Emelianenko last Saturday. The Fedor vs Henderson bout served as a main attraction for Strikeforce and M-1 Global’s tournament. Last Saturday’s event took place at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estate, Illinois, with the evening’s main card aired on Showtime.
Dan Henderson has now earned a three-fight win streak, while Fedor Emelianenko dropped three straight fights. The Last Emperor will be forced to face further inquiries with regards to his retirement.
