Two More Fights Added to the UFC on Fuel Event

Fights between Simpson and Markes plus Brookin vs Yahya were added to the UFC on Fuel event.

The announcement for the two additional matchups was made on Wednesday. This means the middleweight and featherweight bouts were all set.

Aaron Simspon hopes to keep his three-fight win streak against Ronny Markes while Jonathan Brookins, winner of Ultimate Fighter season 12 will face Rani Yahya.

UFC on Fuel 1 will happen on February 15, 2012. No official words about the venue but it is likely to be held at the CenturyLink Center in Nebraska. The main event for the UFC on Fuel will be the fight between Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberg.

UFC 133 Prelims Gathered 1.4 Million Viewers on Spike TV

UFC 133 prelims, that was aired on Spike TV, obtained an average of 1.4 million viewers last Saturday night.

According to reports, last Saturday’s UFC 133 prelims gained an average of 1.4 million viewers on Spike TV, pulling an overall rating of 1.0. The recent UFC event was the No. 1 rated program among the key 18-49 male demographic for basic cable networks on Saturday night.

The said 1.4 million average is just too short to beat the UFC 131 numbers which gained 1.6 million viewers. However, UFC 133’s average viewer is enough to beat UFC 132 with 1.2 million viewers.

Set for “UFC Prelims”: Gustafsson vs Matyushenko and Mendes vs Yahya

It's now official! The Gustafsson vs Matyunshenko and Mendes vs Yahya are set for UFC Prelims on Spike TV.

As Fighting Insider reported yesterday, two UFC 133 bouts will be set for a UFC Prelims on Spike TV. The official confirmed last Monday that the Alexander Gustafsson vs Vladimir Matyunshenko and Chad Mendes vs Rani Yahya matches will air on the one-hour program.

UFC 133: Evans vs Davis will feature a light heavyweight fight between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis to determine the next contender. The upcoming event will kick off on August 6, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Spike TV will Air UFC Prelims for UFC 133

With UFC 132 done, it's time to give the spotlight on UFC 133: Evans vs Davis.

After UFC 132, the upcoming UFC 133 will be the next pay-per-view event that will have a UFC Prelims special on Spike TV. Although it is not yet set, a light heavyweight match between Alexander Gustafsson vs Vladimir Matyunshenko and a featherweight bout pitting Chad Mendes against Rani Yahya is said to air at UFC Prelims. The remaining preliminary bouts, on the other hand, are expected to stream on Facebook.

UFC 133: Evans vs Davis will take place on August 6 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The upcoming tournament will headline a light heavyweight match between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis.

Dustin Porier is one of UFC’s rising star in the featherweight division. For the last six months, he has proven this description to be true. On New Year’s Day, Dustin Porier gave Josh Grispi a defeat at UFC 125 when he served as a late replacement for the injured champion — Jose Aldo. In what has to be a title match, Dustin Porier’s win over Josh Grispi was the most high-profile fight of his career.

At UFC 131, he was supposed to face Rani Yahya. However, the Brazilian grappler was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury. And stepping in for Rani Yahya at UFC 131 on June 11 will be Jason Young. While Dustin Porier was disappointed by the change, he insists that he will not take his new opponent lightly.

Rani Yahya Replaces Jose Aldo Against Chad Mendes at UFC 133

Due to injury acquired in training, Jose Aldo bows out of his UFC 133 match and gives way for Rani Yahya to face Chad Mendes.

UFC President, Dana White, announced last Tuesday that the featherweight champ incurred an injury during his training. That said, Chad Mendes might not have a title shot, but he will definitely have an interesting fight against Rani Yahya at UFC 133.

The UFC 133 will feature the Rashad Evans vs Phil Davis bout as main event on August 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
