A lightweight showdown between Ramsey Nijem and Danny Boy Downes was verbally agreed upon for the upcoming UFC 137: St-Pierre vs Diaz tourney.
The upcoming UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz fight card is almost complete. UFC president, Dana White, announced on Thursday that a lightweight showdown between Daniel “Danny Boy” Downes against “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 13 runner-up, Ramsey Nijem, was verbally agreed to.
Daniel Downes, which has a career stats of 8-2, could really use a victory after dropping a unanimous decision to Jeremy Stephens at the TUF 13 finale last June. While his opponent, Ramsey Nijem – with a career stats of 4-2 – has the added leeway that is usually obtained by fighters coming from the popular reality series. However, the leeway doesn’t last for a long period of time. This means that Ramsey Nijem must establish himself as a part of the promotion by winning his upcoming match against Danny Boy.
UFC 137 fight card will take place in Las Vegas, and will headline a welterweight title bout between UFC champion – Georges St-Pierre – and former Strikeforce champion – Nick Diaz.View Article Source »
After ten weeks of being watched and tested, Tony Ferguson finally proves that he is the Ulitmate Fighter after defeating Ramsey Nijem via knockout last Saturday.
At the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter, Tony Ferguson became the show’s outcast and target of criticism after a drunken tirade against Charlie Rader and his custody issues with his son. Because of that, Tony Ferguson received an avalanche of negative publicity in the recent weeks. Still, he was able to earn his spot at the TUF 13 Finale last Saturday and defeated Ramsey Nijem via knockout.
The victory gave Tony Ferguson a ‘six-figure’ UFC contract and becomes the welterweight champion of The Ultimate Fighter season 13. The Tony Ferguson vs Ramsey Nijem match headlines the TUF 13 Finale, which took action last Saturday, June 4, at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The night’s main card aired on Spike TV, while the preliminary fight streamed on Facebook for free.

The Ultimate Fighter season 13 concluded last Wednesday night with its regular season finale and two semifinal fights. As the episode starts, Tony Ferguson is still the center of attention. He then made a group apology, especially to Clay Harvison and Chris Cope, but it only fell on deaf ears.
Before long though, it was weigh-in time for the first semifinal bout: Team Lesnar’s Chris Cope and Team Dos Santos’ Ramsey Nijem. Soon, they head into the first fight.Read the rest of the article »

At this week's episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 13, Team Dos Santos is up to 3-1.
At this week’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 13, Team Dos Santos started their session in high spirits after Ryan McGillivray’s victory at episode 3. At the other side of the fence, Brock Lesnar showed up and gave Len Bentley some words of encouragement after his recent loss.
