Yves Edwards vs. Rafaello Oliveira, slated for UFC on versus 6 event in Washinton.

After suffering from their current misfortunes, two MMA fighters are now set to regain victories inside the Octagon. Yves Edwards (40-17-1 MMA, 8-5 UFC) and Rafaello Oliveira (14-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) verbally agreed to meet at the upcoming UFC on Versus 6 event, which will be held at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on October 1. The evening’s main card, which highlights the most anticipated match-up between Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson, will be aired on Versus.

The Edwards vs. Oliveira bout will be included on the night’s preliminary card.

Yves Edwards is currently holding a three-fight win streak, which includes his UFC victories against Cody McKenzie and John Gunderson, and Bellator fighter Luis Palomino. Unfortunately, he attained a knock-out loss over Sam Stout during the UFC 131 way back in June 2011 – the said loss entitled Stout as the evening’s “Knockout of the Night.”

His contender, Rafaello Oliveira, is indeed much ready to win his upcoming match – which is considered to be the only way of preventing his resignation under the promotion. The “Tractor” was released by UFC last March 2010, following two decision losses. During the UFC 130 event in May 28, 2011, he was called again by the promotion to replace the injured Bart Palaszewski – wherein he ended up being submitted by Gleison Tibau via a rear-naked choke technique.
