Former training partners Lyoto Machida and Mark Munoz will have to put their friendship aside once they lock horns at UFC Fight Night 30 this coming Saturday. The two has spent countless hours of training together and both of them admit that they have improved their game with the help of one another. However, according to Mark Munoz, Machida benefited more from him. The Filipino Wrecking Machine also claims that he has a few tricks up on his sleeves being “The Teacher” in their time as training partners and he plans to use them on Saturday night.

Rashad Evans defeats Phil Davis while Chael Sonnen beats Michael Bisping via unanimous decision.

The results are in for UFC’s second broadcast on Fox. UFC on Fox 2 took place on Saturday, January 28 on at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The event was highlighted by two light heavyweight title elimination matches and the much-awaited middleweight bout between Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping.

Richard Evans went up against Phil Davis in a fight in a fight that lasted five rounds and won via unanimous decision while Chael Sonnen defeated Michael Bisping,
30-27, 29-28, and 29-28 on the judges’ scorecards.

Tweet: Tito Ortiz Will Fight Rashad Evans at UFC 133

After declining the first opportunity to face Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz is now slotted to the light heavyweight contender at UFC 133.

A day after he said that he turned down the fight against Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz is now set for UFC 133. This news is based on UFC President, Dana White’s tweet:

“Get ready philly for Rashad Evans vs Tito Ortiz!!! Aug 6th Live on PPV at the Wells Fargo Center!!!”

This tweet received a response from Ortiz after several minutes: “Only for the UFC!”

The said tweets ended the days full of speculations about who will face Rashad Evans, after Phil Davis withdrew from the match due to injury. This fight will be a rematch between the two light heavyweight fighters, as they’ve met before at UFC 73 in July 2007 where the match ended in a controversial draw. UFC 133 is scheduled for the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn. on August 6.

Phil Davis, Out of UFC 133 Bout due to Injury

UFC 133 headliner, Phil Davis, bows out from his match against Rashad Evans due to knee injury.

Just three weeks before his scheduled bout for UFC 133, Phil Davis withdrew from the match due to knee injury. He was supposed to enter the Evans vs Davis match, undefeated, and with just one step away from the light heavyweight championship shot. Unfortunately, Phil Davis will be seeking his opportunity for the title on a later date.

The Evans vs Davis bout came into action, following light heavyweight champion – Jon Jones’ – withdrawal. With one fighter out of the lineup, UFC hasn’t announced any replacement to face Rashad Evans yet.

With a middleweight duel pitting Rafael Natal and Constantinos Philippou now official, the lineup for UFC 133: Evans vs Davis is now all set.

UFC 133: Evans vs Davis’ fight card is now complete, as the promotion officially included a middleweight scrap between Rafael ‘Sapo’ Natal and Constantinos Philippou last Saturday. The upcoming tournament will feature a pivotal light heavyweight match between former champion, Rashad Evans, and rising star, Phil Davis. The main, which will air via pay-per-view, will also headline the return of Vitor Belfort in the Octagon against Yoshihiro Akiyama.
