Bellator 51 Preliminary Card, Complete with Four Additional Bouts

Promotion's officials have finalized the Bellator 51 preliminary card with four new bouts.

Four new bouts have were added to Bellator 51’s preliminary card, resulting for a total of six fights that will be streamed on Spike.com.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio on September 24. The night’s MTV2-televised main card, which is also expected to be featured on EPIX, headlines the opening round of the bantamweight tournament. The preliminary card, which highlights the bout between female MMA fighters Jessica Eye and Casey Noland, will be co-promoted by Ohio’s largest MMA promotion — NAAFS.

In their previous announcements, Bellator officials confirmed the bouts between Jessica Eye (3-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Casey Noland (3-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) and featherweights Frank Caraballo (6-4 MMA, 0-1 BFC) vs Dustin Kempf (5-4 MMA, 0-0 BFC). Now, they had already finalized the event’s preliminary card with four new fights: John Hawk (5-3 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Allan Weickert (6-8 MMA, 0-0 BFC), Dan Spohn (5-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Dane Bonnigson (1-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC), Farkhad Sharipov (13-3 MMA, 1-0 BFC) vs TBA, and Clint Musser (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Joey Holt (2-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC).

Bellator 51 Targeted for Canton, Ohio on Sept. 24

Sources disclosed that the Canton Memorial Civic Center in Ohio would be the venue for next month's Bellator 51 event.

Officials of Bellator Fighting Championships on Wednesday announced that its upcoming Bellator 51 event is now set to take place at Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio on September 24. The show, which will be aired live on MTV2, will be hosting the first round of an eight-man bantamweight tournament for the promotion’s fifth season.

This would be the second time that Ohio hosted a Bellator event. The first one is the Bellator 5, which took place at Dayton’s Hara Arena last 2009.

There are currently four Bantamweight Quarterfinal bouts that were listed to the evening’s main card. This includes Alexis Vila (9-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Joe Warren (7-1 MMA, 5-0 BFC), Eduardo Dantas (10-2 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Joe Soto (9-1 MMA, 4-1 BFC), Luiz Nogueira (11-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs Ed West (16-5 MMA, 2-1 BFC), and Chase Beebe (18-7 MMA, 1-0 BFC) vs Marcos Galvao (9-4-1 MMA, 0-1 BFC).

Stipe Miocic Signs a Deal with UFC

NAAFS Heavyweight Champion, Stipe Miocic, has signed a deal with UFC, allowing him to compete in a multi-fight match.

As stated by Stipe Miocic’s management team, the NAAFS, Ohio’s heavyweight prospect has committed himself to compete in a multi-fight deal with UFC. Stipe Miocic is known to be one of the most popular fighters of Ohio since he takes pride in having a 6-0 record — almost all of these victories are declared knockout.

The 6’4″ heavyweight champ was trained by the Strong Style Fight Team. Although this brave fighter has won several matches, Stipe Miocic still keeps his feet on the ground. He stated on the NAAFS website: “My goal has been to become a UFC champion. I am grateful to Joe Silva and Dana White for the opportunity to live my dream. I am anxious and ready to begin my UFC career and to show the UFC and fans around the world what I’m all about.”

Stipe Miocic’s recent NAAFS match was held in Cleveland, Ohio last June 4. In this game, he knocked down Bobby Brents in the second round with leg kicks. At the moment he signed for UFC, he has already been declared as the heavyweight champion of NAAFS. And now, he will proceed to the Octagon for his next match. But until now, his team is not yet announcing the exact date of his launching in UFC.
