Nick Diaz Tests Positive For Marijuana After UFC 143

Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites after his UFC 143 loss, to face disciplinary actions.
Former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz has failed his UFC 143 post-fight drug screening and tested positive for marijuana.
NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer announced on Thursday, that all the fighters were tested and came out clean except Diaz who tested positive for marijuana metabolites.
“All (UFC 143 drug test) results received thus far have been negative, except Mr. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites. A complaint for disciplinary action against Mr. Diaz has been filed,”
This is not the first time for the former welterweight champ. In 2007, Diaz tested positive for marijuana following his Pride fight with Takanori Gomi.
Diaz, who recently suffered a disappointing loss to Carlos Condit, is likely to face suspension and fined.

Overeem needs to pass two more random drug tests as a part of his conditional license from the NSAC
The samples submitted by the competitors for drug testing in last month’s bout, UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem, all came back clean according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The fight took place last December 30, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Out of the twenty fighters who have fought, nineteen have gone through drug testing. Main card fighter Jon Fitch failed to submit his sample. The dutch fighter and current No. 1 heavyweight contender, Alistair Overeem is left to go through two more random drug tests in the next six months to fulfill his conditional license from Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Overeem has already passed his two previous tests.
