Leandro Souza dies before the official weigh in of Shooto 43

Shooto 43 was supposed to be held in Brasilia, Brazil was cancelled after the death of Leandro Souza, a fighter that was featured in the cards of the event.

The 26 year old Souza is a fighter from Nova Uniao, whose notable fighters include two division title holder BJ Penn, current featherweight champ Jose Aldo and interim bantamweight belt holder Renan Barao.

Veteran welterweight Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos is expected to make a promotional debut this Februaury

Former Strikeforce fighter and Veteran welterweight, Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos has officially signed with Legacy Fighting Championship organization.

Santos has yet to make a MMA return, since losing to Jordan Mein, more than a year ago, via a TKO defeat. It was his second straight loss. He had no scheduled bout after his misfortune, so he requested to be released from Strikeforce.

Before he series of defeat, he boasts of a back-to-back victories against Daniel Zarate and Marius Zaromskis.

He is expected to make a promotional debut this Februaury on AXS TV.

Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller allegedly vandalized a Mission Hills Church

Former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller faces a vandalism charge from the Orange County District Attorney after allegedly trashing a Baptist Church in Mission Viejo, California.

According an incident report, the Sheriff’s office was called to the to the Mission Hills Baptist Church, last August 13, after a possible “break-in”. The officers “found the first and second floors covered in white fire extinguisher spray. Cops say the place was also trashed — scattered CDs, books, and broken pictures.”

Miller was released the day after after placing a $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on November 21, 2012.

MMA veteran Sherman Pendergarst Sherman Pendergarst has died this morning, after his two-year battle with rectal and colon cancer. He was just 45. Pendergarst was born in Baltimore. He left his job as a mortgage broker to train under Pendergarst coach Pat Miletich and settled in Bettendorf, Iowa.
