Although Antonio McKee was released by UFC after his split decision loss at UFC 125, his fate is on for a new twist as he defends his vacated lightweight title at Maximum Fighting Championship on February.
Antonio McKee got one shot in the Octagon, lost via split decision at UFC 125, and was sent home packing. But before he entered the promotion, McKee was a lightweight champion at Maximum Fighting Championship in early 2009. Hence, he will put his title on the line for the second time at MFC 28 against Drew Fickett.

The much awaited opening of UFC for 2011 is up. UFC 125: resolution will be on sale this Saturday in Las Vegas Ticket Stations.
Tickets for the upcoming “UFC 125: Resolution” is on sale this week. The PPV event will take place on the first day of 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar rematches Gray Maynard in the headliner. Tickets will cost $75 to $600, go on sale to the general public on Saturday, but a pre-sale period begins Thursday. The public on sale will be at 1 PM on Saturday available at the Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations.
“I’m very excited to be fighting New Year’s Day against a fighter that has a win over me,” Edgar stated. “I’m looking forward to putting on a great show and avenging my one loss. Antonio “Mandingo” Mckee (25-3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) versus “Christmas” Volkmann (11-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) is set for the UFC 125 on January. It has been verbaly dealt with and is now arranging specific details for the bout. UFC 125 is expected to open the year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air on pay-per-view. Obviously, it will take place on January 1.
