And a win over the veteran would give him exactly what he’s seeking — job opportunity.

Matt Mitrione believes that the winner at UFC 137 will be ultimately decided by how many of their career lessons can be applied within a 15-minute time frame — and if his own athleticism can help make any potential gap.

Matt Mitrione vs Cheick Kongo Match on UFC 137

UFC officials announced the latest addition to the UFC 137, with a heavyweight showdown between Matt Mitrione and Cheick Kongo.

UFC officials confirmed on Thursday that a heavyweight showdown between Matt Mitrione and Cheick Kongo will be added to the UFC 137 fightcard.

Matt Mitrione is considered to be one of the most powerful knockout fighters, as he looked much better everytime he steps in the Octagon. He also have a flawless record, including his recent victory at UFC on Versus 4 over Christian Morecraft. On the other hand, Cheick Kongo also fought in the UFC on Versus 4, where he showcased one of the most memorable comeback victory in the history of promotion. He knocked out Pat Barry on their match after getting dropped twice to the mat.

The two fighters are scheduled to face each other inside the Octagon in October at the UFC 137.

A Quick Look Inside the UFC on Versus 4 Venue

Have a glimpse of The Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh -- the venue wherein UFC on Versus 4 will be held this Sunday.

For the first time, The Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh will be hosting a big Ultimate Fighting Championship event this coming Sunday. The UFC on Versus 4, which features the face-off between 170-pound former middleweight champ Nate Marquardt and Rick Story in a 3-round match, will be televised on Versus network at 9 p.m. ET. The event will also air several duels, such as Matt Brown vs. John Howard, Patrick Barry vs. Cheick Kongo, and Christian Morecraft vs. Matt Mitrione.

The Consol Energy Center’s architectural design was created by Populous, the same team who designed the Heinz Field and PNC Park. It was opened last August at a cost of over 321 million dollars. The first event that was held in Consol Energy Center is the Paul McCartney concert on August 18. The venue has 12 escalators, two 360-degree LED rings placed around the seating bowl, 800 high-quality TVs, and a brew pub on the upper concourse.

With a seating capacity of 20,000, The Consol Energy Center is said to be the home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins and the Pittsburgh Power. And has also been chosen to host the 2013 NCAA Frozen Four.

UFC Releases Tim Hague Once Again

For the third time, Tim Hague was released by UFC after a getting first TKO from Matt Mitrione. Can he step inside the Octagon again next time?

After a single fight for the UFC banner, Tim Hague has been released by the promotion. The fighter himself announced the news on his Facebook page last Wednesday. However, this is not the first time that the UFC veteran undergone release from UFC. In fact, this is Tim Hague’s third time.

He first received his walking papers after a controversial split decision loss to Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109. After that, he was tapped to replace Chad Corvin at UFC 113 against Joey Beltran. Unfortunately, Tim Hague was defeated and was released by the promotion the second time. Following that, he put a back-to-back win over Zak Jensen and Travis Wiuff.
