Barueri, Brazil – Thiago Silva again violated the rules of the octagon by failing to make the required weight limit for his fight against Matt Hamill. The light heavyweight division has an original limit of 205lbs but since it is a non-title fight, an allowance of a pound is given to the fighters. Silva however, has weighed 2 lbs north of 206. Rodrigo Damm's kidney injury resulted in the removal of the featherweight showdown between him and Hacran Dias in UFC Fight Night 29
The upcoming featherweight matchup between Rodrigo Damm and Hacran Dias was removed from the UFC Fight Night 29 due to Damm’s injury. It was reported that Damm has suffered from kidney stone attack while cutting weight for his upcoming fight. Damm already has a history with weight cutting and kidney issues. He was pulled out from the semi finals of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil when he suffered the same injury.

UFC 133 prelims, that was aired on Spike TV, obtained an average of 1.4 million viewers last Saturday night.
According to reports, last Saturday’s UFC 133 prelims gained an average of 1.4 million viewers on Spike TV, pulling an overall rating of 1.0. The recent UFC event was the No. 1 rated program among the key 18-49 male demographic for basic cable networks on Saturday night.
The said 1.4 million average is just too short to beat the UFC 131 numbers which gained 1.6 million viewers. However, UFC 133’s average viewer is enough to beat UFC 132 with 1.2 million viewers.View Article Source »
Matt Hamill bids his farewell to active MMA competition, following his UFC 133 loss against Alexander Gustafsson.
A couple of days after suffering a savage defeat at UFC 133, Matt Hamill announced his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts.
“Today is a sad day for me. After six years and 13 fights in the UFC, I’m ready to hang up my gloves and retire from this amazing sport. I was ready to make this decision after UFC 130 but my friends, family coaches and most importantly my daughter encouraged me to give it one last chance.”

The recently added match-up between Alexander Gustafsson and Matt Hamill on UFC 133 will also air on Spike TV. This bout was considered to be one of the UFC 133 preliminary card fights that will display on the promotion’s official cable television partner.
The “UFC 133: Evans vs Ortiz II” event will highlight the rematch between the two giants of MMA. The event will be held on August 6 at the Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, and will air on pay-per-view.

Another fighter was scrapped from UFC 133 lineup, as Vladimir Matyushenko bows out of his match due to injury.
The UFC 133 fight card was shuffled once again, as Vladimir Matyushenko bows out of his match versus Alexander Gustafsson due to undisclosed injury. The latter will now face Matt Hamill, after being tapped on short notice.
Alexander Gustafsson will try to gain his second consecutive win at the said tournament. The 24-year-old fighter carries a 3-1 record since entering UFC in 2009. Meanwhile, Matt Hamill was carrying a five-fight win streak before Quinton Jackson snapped it at UFC 130 via unanimous decision. The veteran fighter holds notable wins over Mark Munoz, Keith Jardine and Tito Ortiz. He also won over reigning light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, although it was via disqualification.
