Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson headlines the highly stacked UFC on Fox 9 this coming December 14
UFC fox 9 is already taking shape 2 months prior to its schedule. The event will be headlined with the UFC lightweight title fight between current champion Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson.
It will be Pettis’ first defense of the title that he took from Benson Henderson by submitting him in the first round. Thomson on the other hand has won his last fight via 1st round TKO over Nate Diaz, whom has not been stopped prior to his bout with Thomson.
The main card will also feature former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit against Matt Brown as well as a fight between high ranking bantamweights in Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald.
The most recent addition to the highly stacked card is a flyweight scrap between one time flyweight contender John Moraga and Darren Uyenoyama. Both fighters have lost their most recent outings. Moraga suffered a fifth round submission loss in his bid to take the title away from Demetrious Johnson. Meanwhile, Uyenoyama was stopped in the 2nd round by Joseph Buenavidez at UFC on Fox 7 last April.

Following his decision loss to Matt Brown at UFC on Versus 4, John Howard is now out of the UFC banner.
The 28-year-old UFC fighter – John Howard – announced in a video message last Monday that he was released by the promotion, following his unanimous decision loss to Matt Brown at UFC on Versus 4. His recent defeat marks his third consecutive loss.
“The rumors are true. I got released today. They finally announced it. … You get three straight losses in the UFC, and this is what happens. I’m not too mad about it. It’s whatever man. I tried my best. My last fight with Matt Brown, I didn’t think I lost, but when it goes to the judges, that’s what happens.
“My plan right now is to either go to Bellator or DREAM … or whoever makes the best offer, I’m going there. To UFC, Dana White, Joe Silva, thank you for the opportunity.”
Heading to the June 26 tournament, both John Howard and Matt Brown expected the loser to be terminated from the promotion. The former earned a decision loss via 28-29 scores across the board.View Article Source »
Matt Brown gained the victory against John Howard at UFC Live 4 -- a win which saved his job.
The Sunday’s welterweight match-up is probably one of the most unforgettable fights for Matt Brown, as he beats up John Howard by unanimous decision.
Aiming hard for the title, the two players have performed a really great game. However, only one has the right to own the victory — and it seems that John Howard failed to do so. Albeit the event is not thrilling as expected, the UFC Live event last Sunday was already enough for Matt Brown to save his career. He hadn’t gained any victories after defeating James Wilkes in 2009.
“I just had fun. Mad props to Howard — what a f**king warrior he is”, Brown commented without promptly realizing that he just said these words on live television.
Meanwhile, John Howard is wondering if he would still get the chance to show off his skills inside the ring. The match had brought Matt Brown a record of 12-10, while 14-7 for John Howard.View Article Source »

"The reality is this is where he makes his money. The money isn't in the movie business unless you're (George) Clooney. I think he's taking it serious." ---Dana White
A few months ago , UFC president Dana White was not pleased to put the fight between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans on hold. Now, Jackson is focused on fighting again, White believes he’ll never have the same problem.
“The reality is this is where he makes his money. The money isn’t in the movie business unless you’re (George) Clooney. I think he’s taking it serious.”
Jackson, delayed his UFC 114 fight with Evans for almost half a year in order to portray B.A. Baracus on a feature-film version of “The A-Team.” Evans earned a unanimous decision victory, and Jackson later said that he knew his chances of winning were dimmed due to the events that took place outside of the cage.
