The recently proclaimed women's bantamweight champion, Meisha Tate, spoke regarding people's decision if she's the new face of women's MMA.

The co-event of the “Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Henderson” held last Saturday seems to damage the career of the unbeatable Marloes Coenen, as Meisha Tate attained the Strikeforce bantamweight title by finishing her through an arm-triangle choke technique.

Though the new 135lb Strikeforce champion is getting much excitement from her new title belt, Meisha Tate pointed out that she is still keeping her feet on the ground and would not get too affected with the fame she’s entering right now.

Following last Saturday's Overeem vs Werdum match, the Strikeforce matchmakers penciled a welterweight clash between Paul Daley and Cyborg Santos next month.

Last Saturday, Strikeforce officials announced that a welterweight duel between Paul Daley and Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos will be part of the upcoming Fedor vs Henderson card. With the Paul Daley vs Cyborg Santos likely to be part of the main card, the upcoming event will kick off on July 30 at the Sears Center Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Paul Daley will be returning in the cage after this April loss against current welterweight champion, Nick Diaz. But prior to his TKO Loss, Paul Daley won eight of his nine bouts, with his sole defeat coming from Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. Meanwhile, Evangelista Santos is also coming from a loss against Nick Diaz. His January title match marred his two-fight win streak from Marius Zaromski and Daniel Zarate.

Also in the card is a women’s title fight between reigning champ, Marloes Coenen, and top contender, Meisha Tate. Marloes Coenen will defend her title for the second time, after snatching the title from Liz Carmouche last March.

Some fans would think that a late change of contender might ruin Marloes Coenen's game plan, the current queen of 135-pounds thinks otherwise.

The current Strikeforce 135-pound queen, Marloes Coenen, was supposed to defend her title to Miesha Tate. Unfortunately, the contender suffered a knee injury and was scrapped from the bout. Now, Malroes Coenen will bring her belt on the line against Liz Carmouche. And if fans were thinking that the late change could throw a monkey wrench to the champion’s game plan, you got it all wrong.

“I’m excited. I’m looking forward to it. [The late change in opponent] is no problem for me. I had to wait a long time to fight again, so I’m all pumped up. I feel well-rounded in all the areas of the game”

The Coenen vs Carmouche bout will grace the former’s first title defense in Strikeforce. Their match will be part of the Henderson vs Feijao event, that will take place on March 5 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

With Miesha Tate now out of Strikeforce's 135-pound women's championship battle picture, Marloes Coenen will defend her title against Liz Carmouche instead.

After suffering a knee injury during training, Miesha Tate was forced to withdraw from her penciled March 5 title bout against Marloes Coenen in Strikeforce. That said, Liz Carmouche will take her post at the promotion’s 135-pound women’s championship event. The women’s tourney is set to take action at Strikeforce: Feijao vs Henderson event.

Liz Carmouche is a two-time Strikeforce veteran and a former US Marine. She is currently undefeated with a record of 5-0, and with notable wins over Colleen Schneider and Jan Finney. On the other hand, Marloes Coenen is coming from a title-winning performance against Sarah Kaufman last October.

The Strikeforce: Feijao vs Henderson will headline a light heavyweight title bout between Dan Henderson and Rafael Cavalcante. The titular match will take place on March 5, at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio and will air live on Showtime.
