Rafael Natal chosen as the new opponent of Tim Kennedy

The revamp of UFC Fight Night 30’s card has left Tim Kennedy without a dance partner. Kennedy was supposed to fight Lyoto Machida in the main event of UFC Fight for the Troops 3. Machida however was pulled out in the card to fight Mark Munoz two weeks earlier than his originally scheduled middleweight debut.

Kennedy now left without an opponent, immediately calls out every roster in UFC’s middleweight division in his Twitter account. His campaign in the social networking site finally paid off when the UFC has chosen Rafael Natal as his new opponent. The news was first announced in FOXSports.com and was later confirmed by UFC.

The former US Special Force and Strikeforce contender has again twitted the news:

“Opportunity knocks @rafaelsaponatal,” he wrote. “You always win, but no one knows who you are. When I’m done with you, neither will you(Tough guy voice).”

The middleweight showdown between the two is Kennedy’s 2nd fight in the octagon. He won his debut when he outpointed Renzo Gracie last July in UFC 162. His opponent, Rafael “Sapo” Natal has won 5 of his last 6 bouts and has not lost since the start of this year. He has a professional record of 17-4-1 (5-2-1 in UFC).
