With UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro fast approaching, UFC has slated its next Brazilian trip in Manaus next year.

With UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro yet to come, the promotion has set its eyes on its next Brazilian trip. Zuffa CEO, Lorenzo Fertitta, announced last Tuesday that UFC is targeting the Amazonas state capital – Manaus – for a 2012 show. The event is expected to go down at the Convention Center of Manaus which has the capacity to hold 100,000 spectators.

As Lorenzo Fertitta said in a press conference:

“The opportunity to bring the UFC to Manaus and to the home of some of our great fighters makes us so excited. Our expectation is that Manaus will set a new attendance record, with 100,000 people watching the show.”

In case the venue indeed sells out, then UFC 129’s live attendance record of 55,000 people at Roger’s Center in Toronto will be shattered.

Because they're in different weightclasses, we wanted to let that all play out before we put those two guys together. But I mean we're getting to a point where they've pretty much cleaned out the division. Maybe it's time to watch them and see what happens." ---Lorenzo Fertitta, UFC Co-owner and CEO

UFC’s big boss, Dana White, said that if people want to see a match fight between champs, Anderson Silva (26-4 MMA, 11-0 UFC) and Georges St-Pierre (20-2 MMA, 14-2 UFC), then he’ll make it happen.

UFC co-owner and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta also gave his remarks about the plan.

“I want to see that fight,” Fertitta said. “That’s probably the one fight I really want to see the most.”

GSP and Silva are both heroes of the octagon. They have been title holders and fans wants to see who should reign inside the cage. White spoke of the possible measures that should be taken into consideration. On the occasion, the height between the two fighters are quite massive. Silva was 6’2 while GSP is 5’11.
