“I just need to make some adjustments; that’s all. He fought a hell of a fight. I’ll come back stronger. I’m not worried. Losses always make true champions stronger.” - Muhammed 'King Mo' Lawal

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal got caught up in a bashing battle against Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante at Strikeforce: Houston last Saturday at the Toyota Center. A highly regarded wrestler, Lawal was expected by the audience to exert a grappling-heavy strategy. However, Feijao was able to fought off a number of take downs and remained standing in the first round. Though King Mo could not take the fight down to the mat, he was able to give Feijao some digging body shots in the second round. But in the midst of another body barrage, the Brazilian fighter unleashed a trio of knees that clearly hurt the King. As the champ fell backwards, Cavalcante puts him down with an overhand right. Lawal gave a single-leg take down attempt, but Feijao was too strong that he was able to batter King Mo with punches and elbows. John McCarthy, the referee of the event, stepped in at 1:14 at round three to stop the fight.
