Bellator Announces Bantamweight Tournament Season 5

Bellator has set the stage for their season 5 Bantamweight Tournament, and the best fighter will get a title shot against reigning champ -- Zach Makovsky.

Joe Warren will attempt to add another title to his trophy case, as he enters the season 5 of Bellator Bantamweight Tournament. Opposing him is the Olympic bronze medalist in wrestling, Alexis Vila. Also in the fight card is a bantamweight duel between Joe Soto and Eduardo Dantas. Ed West will face Luiz Nogueira, while Chase Beebe will lock horns contra Marcos Galvao as well.

The winner of the Bellator Bantamweight Tournament season 5 will have a shot to face current champ, Zach Makovsky. The said event will take action on September 24, and will air live at MTV2.

Eye Injury Might Cause Joe Soto his Career

Just like Alan Belcher, a detached retina was also found in Joe Soto's eyes. The surgery took place Wednesday and the process for recovery might be long. We hope that it won't be too enough to end his career.

Former Bellator Featherweight Champ Joe Soto is the latest victim of a severe eye injury. The 23-year-old fighter is undergoing a surgery today for a detached retina. This will cost a long recovery process. Soto’s manager Tom Call said that there are complaints about vision problems on the fighters eye. They immediately scheduled a surgery for his retina.

Soto lost his belt earlier this month when Joe Warren claimed it knocking him out with a knee and punches. This occurred in Bellator 30, his first professional setback.
