The Ultimate Fighter Season 14 just debuted on Spike TV, and this season's elimination-round is now in the books.
The historic season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter kicks off last Wednesday night, as it will be the last TUF season that will air on Spike TV. TUF 14 features bantamweight and featherweight talents, who will be led by Michael Bisping and Jayson “Mayhem” Miller.
In this TUF 14 season debut, 32 hopefuls were whittled down to 16 cast members who made their way to the elimination-round fights. And unlike the previous season, this year’s elimination took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
UFC President, Dana White, welcomed the fighters and informed them that text votes will determine this season’s Best Fight, Best Knockout and Best Submission, which are worth $25,000 each. The UFC President then introduces the coaches, Michael Bisping and Jayson “Mayhem” Miller, wishes the fighters good luck, and let them prep up for the round of fights.
The results of last night’s elimination-round fight are posted below.Read the rest of the article »
Mayhem Miller promises no "Bully Beatdown" antics at the TUF 14, but it will not be an "all work and no play" season either.
It goes without saying that Jayson “Mayhem” Miller is a high-energy personality who is capable of capturing an audience the moment he peeks his head out of the backstage — or the moment he appears on your TV screen at MTV’s “Bully Beatdown.” However, he insists that his priority as a coach on the soon-to-debut The Ultimate Fighter season 14 is fulfilling his duties.
While Mayhem Miller admits that it will not be all work and no play, he knew that coaching opposite Michael Bisping has a potential to stir the spot. But despite hoping for a successful TUF 14 run, both of them cleared out that they did not ham it up for the cameras. And since tension between the two of them seems inevitable, Jayson “Mayhem” Miller believes that the real draw to the TUF 14 is the quality of the fights.Read the rest of the article »
The CSAC has lifted Chael Sonnen's indefinite suspension. However, the fighter is still required to face the commission if he wants to get a second license.
California State Athletic Commission’s indefinite suspension for one-time middleweight contender – Chael Sonnen – comes to an end last Tuesday. In relation to this, the fighter’s manager – Mike Roberts – said that a meeting today in Las Vegas will reevaluate the direction of the fighter’s career.
CSAC suspended Chael Sonnen indefinitely last May due to his inconsistent statements in a December 2010 appeal for a one-year suspension. The one-year suspension, which was later halved to six months, was issued in relation to his positive post-UFC 117 drug test result. Following that, Chael Sonnen was charged of money laundering. Hence, the decision sacked a job offer for Chael Sonnen to coach opposite Michael Bisping at The Ultimate Fighter season 14. In lieu of him is the latest UFC talent, Jayson “Mayhem” Miller.Read the rest of the article »
