UFC President, Dana White, will be honored on November 18 by PromaxBDA a 2010 “Game Changer Award” in New York City. The Game Changer Award recognizes an innovator that transformed sports media and sports media marketing through technology, application, business model and industry.

White took over the struggling organization in 2001 as part of the Zuffa LLC’s purchase. He made UFC a billion-dollar sports promotion that it is today by embracing new technologies, securing new TV deals, prompting significant domestic and international expansion and continuing the organization’s regulatory efforts. Because of this, UFC has helped the Mixed Martial Arts industry to move into the mainstream. According PromaxBDA President, Jonathan Block-Verk, Dana White is the perfect epitome of a game changer as his shift in perception gave the UFC brand its meteoric rise.
