The "Ultimate Auction" begins now. The largest and the most popular MMA promotion, UFC, starts the year with a kind heart by extending a helping hand to the nation's fallen heroes.

With UFC’s second “UFC Fight for the Troops” event, they’re launching the “Ultimate Auction”.

The auction features online bidding of high-end prizes including UFC VIP Experience, the limited edition UFC Custom Camaro and a private training session with Randy Couture and Forrest Griffin.

All the proceeds will go directly to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The auction ends on Jan. 23, a day after the  “UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2.” It’s a special live UFC event that raises funds for men and women in the United States Armed Forces that have suffered traumatic brain injuries.

UFC Fight Night 23 takes place Saturday, Jan. 22 at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, and airs live on Spike TV.

If you are interested to bid should visit the auction’s home page. Additional auctions include Dinner with UFC Octagon Girls, a chance to attend the season eight premiere of “Entourage” and other unique experiences.

Spike TV and the UFC are partnering with the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund for this second “Fight for the Troops” show. The first event took place in Fayetteville, N.C. in December 2008 and raised more than $4 million. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund provides assistance to our nation’s military heroes who have been critically injured in line of their duty.

Franklin vs Griffin, Set for SuperBowl Weekend

Written on October 06, 2010 by Markham Mencken

A pair of "Ultimate Fighter" coaches will look to go to battle Super Bowl weekend, as Forrest Griffin returns to action to face Rich Franklin in a light heavyweight bout. But can they recuperate in time for the event?

Forrest Griffin is said to do battle with Rich Franklin on his come back, and the bout will probably take action as a co-main event for the SuperBowl weekend. Whether the news is official or not, Rich “Ace” Franklin’s health will definitely be a holdup for the event.

The former middleweight champ, Ace, suffered a broken arm after acquiring a knockout win versus Chuck Liddell. And according to some sources close to the fighter, Franklin is yet to be medically cleared for a return. And just like Rich Franklin, Forrest Griffin is also in an extended layoff due to shoulder surgery he got after defeating Tito Ortiz.

The bout between Franklin and Griffin is feasible to gain co-main event for the SuperBowl weekend show, which is most likely to be headlined by Anderson Silva’s title defense contra Vitor Belfort.
