Rafael Dos Anjos steps in for Evan Dunham, as the latter pulls out from his UFC 132 bout against George Sotiropoulos.

UFC lightweight fighter, Evan Dunham, has pulled out from his UFC 132 bout against George Sotiropoulos due to an undisclosed injury. That said, the promotion has tapped Rafael Dos Anjos to take his post at the event.

His withdrawal from the match is considered a setback, while he’s still regarded as a bright lightweight prospect despite his 0-2 record. Evan Dunham won his 11 professional fights before dropping a split decision to Sean Sherk last September, followed by a first-round TKO loss from Melvin Guillard.

UFC 132 is set to take down at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, featuring a bantamweight title match between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.

Dunham vs Sotiropoulos, Added to UFC 132 Card

Another match-up was added to the upcoming UFC 132's fight card. Who's your bet between Evan Dunham and George Sotiropoulos.

BJ Penn and Jon Fitch has fought to a draw last February at UFC 127. And it seems that fans are going to see a definite conclusion soon, as an immediate rematch will take place on July 2.

In addition to this, UFC also announced in its official Twitter account that an Evan Dunham vs George Sotiropoulos match is also part of the UFC 132 roster. Evan Dunham and George Sotiropoulos are two lightweight fighters excited to get back on track for contention.

UFC Fight Night 23: Medical Suspensions

UFC Fight Night 23 participants were issued 10 day suspensions each. Some are even suspended for a longer period of time.

The “UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2″ has its own fair share of suspensions. However, some fighters are restricted to do vigorous activities longer than others.

The event concluded last Jan. 22 at Fort Hood in Texas. The main card aired on Spike TV while the preliminaries streamed on Facebook.

A mandatory 8 to 10-day suspensions were given to all of the fighters. Meanwhile, Evan Dunham, Hague and George Roop – were all issued 31-day suspensions following knockout losses.

The Fight Night 23 event last Saturday was a blast. Melvin Guillard's victory led him to get the whooping $30,000 bonus.

Melvin Guillard, Yves Edwards and Cody McKenzie lead the pack of  the “UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2″  $30,000 “Fight Night” bonuses recipients.

Guillard was awarded with the “Knockout of the Night” award while Edwards grabbed the “Submission of the Night” bonus and the “Fight of the Night” award to opponent McKenzie.

UFC Fight Night 23 concluded last Saturday at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. It served as a fund-raiser for UFC’s auction for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The main card aired on Spike TV while the prelims streamed on Facebook.

Guillard earned his bonus via first round KO over Evan Dunham in the night’s headliner. Edwards on the other hand, earned his bonuses with a victory on the night’s featured prelim fight. McKenzie got the honors even though he lost his fight via second-round rear-naked choke.

Melvin Guillard Replaces Kenny Florian for UFC Fight Night 23

Kenny Florian is out on UFC Fight Night 23. After a knee injury, he was forced to let go of the fight. Melvin Guillard will replace the latter promoting him from preliminary card to main fight. Melvin Guillard will now face his fellow lightweight Evan Dunham on the Spike TV-televised headliner.

As expected by many, Melvin Guillard has already replaced injured Kenny Florian on January 2011’s “UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2″ event. Guillard (25-8 MMA, 8-4 UFC) will now meet fellow lightweight Evan Dunham (11-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in a Spike TV-televised headliner.

Florian vs Dunham Match, Now Set for January 22 Event

It's a February Superbowl weekend no more for Kenny Florian and Evan Dunham. Their match was moved to January 22 that will tentatively take place on Fort Hood in Texas. Who will gain a two-fight losing streak in the upcoming event?

The Kenny Florian vs Evan Dunham match, which was originally scheduled for the February Super Bowl weekend, has been moved to a January 22 event. The Florian vs Dunham bout will feature two 155-pound fighters that aims to avoid a two-fight losing streak. Kenny Florian is coming from a decision loss against Gray Maynard at UFC 118. Evan Dunham, on the other hand, will attempt to eliminate his past setback against Sean Sherk in UFC 119.

The January 22 event is likely to take action in an US military base in Fort Hood, Texas. However, no paperwork is finalized yet. But in case the event will be all geared up, the January 22 event will mark the third time UFC held an event in conjunction with an US military base.
