Jose Aldo wants Anthony Pettis' lightweight belt for a chance of to hold titles in two weight classes
Anthony Pettis was supposed to drop to 145 to challenge featherweight king Jose Aldo but an injury yanked him out of the fight. He later won a title of his own when he submitted Benson Henderson in UFC 164. Now, with Pettis as the lightweight champ, Jose Aldo feels that it is his turn to come after Pettis’ belt.
“I want it at lightweight,” states Aldo regarding a potential fight with Pettis. “That’s where his belt resides, so I can steal it. It would be better for me since I already have a belt of my own. My belt is already up on the wall at my home.”Read the rest of the article »

Two more WEC standouts are making their way inside the Octagon, as Erik Koch and Cub Swanson meets at UFC 132.
UFC confirmed last Tuesday that UFC 132 will headline a bantamweight title fight between current champion, Dominick Cruz, and Urijah Faber. In addition to these, the promotion included two more former WEC standouts to the July 2 bout.
“Rising star Erik Koch, who took home Knockout of the Night at the stacked UFC 128 event, will take on Cub Swanson, who earned Fight Of The Night honors in his last outing.”
Erik Koch took home the Knockout of the Night award by taking down Raphael Assuncao. He is carrying a three-fight winning streak since his unanimous decision loss to Chad Mendes. Meanwhile, Cub Swanson will step inside the Octagon for the first time at UFC 132. His last appearance earned him a split decision win over Mackens Semerzier at WEC 52.

It is safe to say that the best card for 2011 will take place this Saturday, at UFC 128: Shogun vs Jones. While the pay-per-view card will highlight a big UFC Light Heavyweight title fight, the preliminary roster green lits good action as well.
The preliminary fight card will kick off with a catch-weight brawl between Nick Catone and Constantinos Philippou. Though it has been more than a year since Nick Catone’s last fight, it was a victory over Jesse Forbes. Constantinos Philippou, on the other hand, will be making a UFC debut as a late replacement for Dan Miller. Following the UFC-WEC merger announcement, the line up for WEC 52 was all shaken up. Luckily, new bouts were added and the November 11 event is now full steam ahead.
World Extreme Cagefighting has added two new bouts for its November 11 card after the UFC-WEC merger announcements. WEC 52 will take place at the Palms Casino Resort’s Pearl Theater in Las Vegas. The event will feature a co-main event pitting Chad Mendes and Javier Vasquez, in addition to a featherweight clash between Erik Koch and Francisco Rivera.
The WEC 52 will be headlined by Urijah Faber’s bantamweight debut versus Takeya Mizugaki.
