Mexico's pride, Efrain Escudero, was forced out of his slated bout with Tim Radcliffe at BAMMA 7 due to visa issues.
Efrain Escudero was forced out of weekend’s BAMMA 7 card, and is scratched from his bout with submission wizard — Tim Radcliffe. According to his Twitter post, he faced certain visa issues, which prevented him from traveling to England. And with the said issue not being able to resolve, Escudero and his team withdraws from the scheduled fight.
With Efrain Escudero out, 13 bouts remained on the fight card — including welterweights Paul Daley vs Jordan Radev, and lightweights Andre Winner vs Jason Ball. The evening’s main card, headlining the middleweight bout between Frank Trigg and Jim Wallhead, will be aired live and free on BAMMA’s website. It will also be featured on Syfy in the UK. BAMMA 7 is expected to take place at NIA Arena in Birmingham, England on September 10.
BAMMA is undeniably the biggest UK-based mixed martial arts promotion to date. Their upcoming event on Saturday will feature some of the much awaited title fights of this generation, including the British middleweight championship bout between Jack Marshman (8-0) vs Carl Noon (7-1), and the world lightweight title fight of Rob Sinclair (10-2) and Leonardo Santos (9-3).

BAMMA added a lightweight title bout, pitting current champ - Rob Sinclair - against Sengoku vet - Leonardo Santos - for BAMMA 7 on September.
Last Monday, British Association of Mixed Martial Arts announced a trio of fights for the promotion’s BAMMA 7 tournament. The fight card features a lightweight title bout between reigning champ, Rob Sinclair, and Sengoku vet, Leonardo Santos. Also in the card is a lightweight match between TUF 8 winner, Efrain Escudero, and Tim Radcliffe. Moreover, Matt Ewin will square off against Valentino Petrescu at middleweight.
BAMMA’s head of talent, Jude Samuel, said in an official statement:
“This is going to be a very explosive fight,” stated Jude Samuel, BAMMA’s head of talent, in an official release. “Leo is a world-class BJJ fighter, but when he fought Jason Ball, he actually out-boxed a boxer! Rob Sinclair, on the other hand, is one of the most explosive lightweights I’ve ever seen.”
BAMMA 7 will take place on September 10, at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.View Article Source »
Following a loss to Charles Oliveira, TUF Season 8 winner Efrain Escudero will take a week off as the promotion reprieves him from the Octagon. What enlightenment will Escudero have during his one week repose?
After his September 15 loss to Charles Oliveira, TUF Season 8 winner Efrain Escudero has been released from UFC. He was originally set to face John Gunderson for the undercard match in last week’s UFC Fight Night Event, but Gunderson was injured and he ended up with Oliveira instead. However, Escudero was submitted in the third round of the lightweight match by the Brazilian fighter, compelling the promotion to discharge him. The released fighter pointed out that he will be taking the week off, and will ponder for his future for the time being.

At first, it was Danzig versus Wiman. Then, it became Escudero against Wiman. And now, it's a fight between Escudero and Oliveira. Will the opponent's door continue to revolve or this is the final ticket?
Sources close to the Fight Night event confirmed today that Charles Oliveira will replace Matt Wiman to face Efrain Escudero. The match was supposed to be a Mac Danzig versus Matt Wiman fight. But Mac Danzig was forced to withdraw from the co-main event. Then Escudero was called to replace Danzig. Unfortunately for Escudero, he was left without an opponent as Matt Wiman broke his arm. The UFC match maker Joe Silva comes into the scene by pairing Escudero with Charles Oliveira. Charles Oliveira (13-0) just made his debut at the UFC on Versus Two last August 1. In his 13 fights, he only went to a decision once. Efrain Escudero, on the other hand, just came off a victory over Dan Lauzon at UFC 114 last May 29.View Article Source »
