After some considerations, Dana White already decided that Frankie Edgar will face Gray Maynard in a rematch once again. Will the next fight declare a winner this time?

UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar, will make another title defense against Gray Maynard. Although it was generally believed that Anthony Pettis would get the next title shot, Edgar and Maynard fought to a draw at UFC 125. The decision made it hard for Dana White to deny the challenger another shot. Maynard had never lost a fight as a professional. In fact, he have a decision win over Edgar. And that was the only loss that the lightweight champ ever acquired in his professional career.

Anthony Pettis, on the other hand, took the situation in stride after being informed that he wouldn’t be Frankie Edgar’s next opponent. Meanwhile, Gray Maynard did not hesitate when asked if he wanted an immediate rematch. During the UFC 125 post-fight news conference, UFC Vice President of Operations and Production, Craig Borsari, told the press that Anthony Pettis would face Edgar next. However, Dana White told ESPN that he had not yet decided who’s going to be the next contender. But after further considerations, the UFC president decided that Maynard will get Edgar next.

Here at Fighting Insider, we think that an immediate rematch is the right thing to do. Do you think the same way? Tell us your opinions by leaving a comment.
