After scrapping two matches, UFC 135: Jones vs Rampage now includes "Yagin vs. Assuncao"!
UFC announced on Wednesday night that two bouts included UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage were scrapped. The said matches are the featherweight showdown between Diego Nunes and Manny Gamburyan, and the bantamweight clash pitting Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs Damacio Page. The fighters bowed out from the upcoming tournament due to the injuries. However, one match was added to the event: A face-off between the returning UFC veteran – Junior Assuncao – and the newest fighter of UFC, Eddie Yagin.
It is almost four years since the last time Junior Assuncao steps in the Octagon. He went 7-1 since, including victories from his six most recent bouts. On the other hand, Eddie Yagin – who have a career stats of 15-4-1 – also gone 7-1 in his recent bouts. After defeating former Bellator champion, Joe Soto, at Tachi Palace Fights 10 in August, he finally earned his shot in the UFC after more than a decade of fighting professionally.

A negotiation and agreement between Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto and Damacio Page is now in place for the match of the two fighters at the UFC 135
A bout between Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto with a career status of 18 wins and 4 losses and Damacio Page with 15 wins and 6 losses for bantamweight division is in the works for UFC 135.
Officials of UFC announced that the two party is now talking bout the said match scheduled for September.
UFC 135 is said to take place on September 24 at Pepsi Center in Denver, but still there are no official announcement for the event. The main event for that night would be a championship headliner between Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson that will be aired on pay per view. WEC 52: Faber vs Mizugaki officially added five more fights last Monday. A featherweight tilt between Chad Mendes and Javier Vazquez, plus a bantamweight bout pitting Eddie Wineland versus Damacio Page will round-up the main card.
Chad “Money” Mendes is undefeated in eight outings, wherein half of it are coming by either knockout or submission. Money’s strong take-downs have provided him victories over Erik Koch, Anthony Morrison and Cub Swanson. Javier “Showtime” Vazquez, on the other hand, is coming from a back-to-back wins in WEC. Showtime has a five winning streak before loosing his first two fights in WEC via split decision.
