Following Friday's Strikeforce Challengers 18: Gurgel vs Duarte event, the Nevada State Athletic Commission released its official list of suspended fighters.
Although they have both attained victories at the Strikeforce Challengers 18 event last Friday, Joe Duarte and Nate James could still be sent out of the cage for several months. Last Monday, The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the post-fight medical suspension list for the Strikeforce Challengers 18.
The Strikeforce Challengers 18, which was the promotion’s second event at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, headlined the lightweight bout between Joe Duarte and Jorge Gurgel. Duarte got the victory but could be suspended until February 2012 due to a finger injury.

Today's weigh-in ceremony for “Strikeforce Challengers 18: Gurgel vs. Duarte” event is open to the public. MMA fans are encouraged to attend.
MMA fans are invited to be part of the “Strikeforce Challengers 18: Gurgel vs Duarte” fighter weigh-ins. The festivities will begin at exactly 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT local time) at the grounds of the Key West Ballroom of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Venue will be opened to the public at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Strikeforce Challengers 18 event will be held on Friday, August 12 at the The Pearl — also located on the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The Strikeforce Challengers 18, which headlines the lightweight face-off between Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte, will be held next week, August 12, at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The night’s main card is believed to be airing on Showtime.
The upcoming event is said to be the second Strikeforce Challengers show to take place in Las Vegas. The first one is the July 22’s Strikeforce Challengers 17, which successfully carries more than 1,800 viewers and huge ticket sales of $42,987.50. However, not all tickets were sold for the event. In fact, 76% of them were left and were eventually distributed as complimentary tickets.

The matches for the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers fight cards are updated with two new bouts.
The first match will be a lightweight showdown between Lionel Lanham and Guto Inocente that is scheduled on July 22 at Strikeforce Challengers 17. Lionel Lanham is the newest fighter who seems to have a bright career in MMA. Having a career stats of 3-0, he wants to continue he’s winning streak on his Strikeforce debut. Standing against Lionel Lanhan is Carlos Augusto ‘Guto’ Inocente, who will also makes his Strikeforce debut.
The the other fight will be a lightweight match-up pitting Pat Healy and Eric Wisely for August 12’s Strikeforce Challengers 18 in Las Vegas. Pat Healy is one of Strikeforce’s veteran, and has notable wins over Carlos Condit, Ryan Ford and Lyle Beerbohm. On the other hand, Eric Wisely is new to Strikeforce. However, he has a lot of experience fighting inside the cage, including his victory over former UFC title contender – Hermes France – and Matt Veach.

The match between Ronda Rousey and Sarah D'Aleilo is now listed on "Strikeforce Challengers 18", according to Strikeforce officials.
Strikeforce representatives reported on Sunday that the bout between Ronda Rousey and Sarah D’Alelio, which is supposed to be featured on the “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” card in July, is now shifted to August’s “Strikeforce Challengers 18″ event. The said show – which is expected to air on Showtime – will take place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, highlighting the face-off between Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte.
Ronda Rousey is well-known for being the youngest participant in the 2004 Summer Olympics. She is a great Judo fighter who also happens to be the recipient of the 2008 Summer Olympics bronze medal.
