The promotion sets eight more matches to the upcoming Stikeforce Challengers 18 event in Sin City.
The Strikeforce Challengers 18, which headlines the lightweight face-off between Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte, will be held next week, August 12, at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The night’s main card is believed to be airing on Showtime.
The upcoming event is said to be the second Strikeforce Challengers show to take place in Las Vegas. The first one is the July 22’s Strikeforce Challengers 17, which successfully carries more than 1,800 viewers and huge ticket sales of $42,987.50. However, not all tickets were sold for the event. In fact, 76% of them were left and were eventually distributed as complimentary tickets.

Ovince St. Preux believes that he's now ready to face notable fighters to test his standing in the light heavyweight division.
Almost two years ago, Ovince St. Preux was an unknown MMA fighter with a losing record searching for a rebound. When he returned to action in February of last year, he finished Brett Chism with a 75-second TKO finish, and Chris Hawk with a 47-second upset at Strikeforce: Nashville’s preliminary card. His performance caught the attention of the promotion’s brass, leading him back to Strikeforce twice. It was responded with a victory over Benji Radach and Antwain Britt. In addition to this, he also obtained wins over Jason Day and Claudio Godoi.

The official weigh-ins for "Strikeforce Challengers 17" event will be held on Thursday, with all MMA fans welcome to join the festivities.
MMA enthusiasts are very welcome to attend and be part of the official “Strikeforce Challengers 17: Voelker vs Bowling III” fighter weigh-ins, which will be held on Thursday, July 21.

New matches were listed to the preliminary card of the Strikeforce Challengers 17 event, which will be held on July 22 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. This includes, middleweights Ben Lagman vs Louis Taylor and lightweights Bill Cooper and Maka Watson. The night’s main card, which also highlights the bout between Roger Bowling and Bobby Voelker, will be aired on Showtime.
Michigan-based fighter Ben Lagman (6-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) has been fighting under the King of the Cage (KOTC), and has turned pro several years ago. He faced most of the best MMA fighters in the industry, including Kenny McCorkell (10-5) and Angelo Popofski (15-9). Ben Lagman is known for finishing his opponents in less than two minutes — which is what he did to his five victories.
Challenging him is Louis Taylor (7-2 MMA, 0-2 SF), who is aiming to have his first victory under the promotion. He obtained submission losses from the powerful punches of Nate Moore and Joe Riggs, but recently rebounded from this downfall with a submission victory over Jason Louck (14-8) at an event in Illinois.

Two new bouts were added to the upcoming Strikeforce Challenger fight cards, set for July 22 and August 12 shows.
The matches for the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers fight cards are updated with two new bouts.
The first match will be a lightweight showdown between Lionel Lanham and Guto Inocente that is scheduled on July 22 at Strikeforce Challengers 17. Lionel Lanham is the newest fighter who seems to have a bright career in MMA. Having a career stats of 3-0, he wants to continue he’s winning streak on his Strikeforce debut. Standing against Lionel Lanhan is Carlos Augusto ‘Guto’ Inocente, who will also makes his Strikeforce debut.
The the other fight will be a lightweight match-up pitting Pat Healy and Eric Wisely for August 12’s Strikeforce Challengers 18 in Las Vegas. Pat Healy is one of Strikeforce’s veteran, and has notable wins over Carlos Condit, Ryan Ford and Lyle Beerbohm. On the other hand, Eric Wisely is new to Strikeforce. However, he has a lot of experience fighting inside the cage, including his victory over former UFC title contender – Hermes France – and Matt Veach.

Brian McLaughlin replaces Adlan Amagov to meet Ron Stallings on July 22's Strikeforce Challengers 17.
Included on July’s Strikeforce Challengers 17 event is the match between Brian McLaughlin (6-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) and Ron Stallings (9-3 MMA, 0-0 SF).
Adlan Amagov (7-1-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) is supposed to be the one to meet Ron Stallings on the said event, but was forced to leave the game due to unknown reasons. Replacing him is Brian McLaughlin, whose bout against Brandon Garner during the “The Ultimate Fighter 8″ was declared a no-contest, after Brandon Garner lands an illegal knee to his head. UFC President, Dana White, then ruled Brian McLaughlin to move on to the house. However, he suffered from a fractured nose which hindered him to fight in any UFC event.Read the rest of the article »
