MMA Diet 101: Calories

Whether a MMA athlete would like to lose or gain weight, caloric intake is one important thing to consider. And there are ways on how a fighter can fix his caloric intake depending on his needs.
A calorie is the amount of heat necessary to raise one gram of water by one degree Celsius. Calories is the most easily quantified dieting variables among them all. Regardless of the food or drink source, a caloric intake will define whether you gain or lose weight.
The truth is this: Healthy human beings can gain weight by taking in more calories than what their body can burn. On the other hand, an individual who would like to lose weight must consume calories fewer than the body burns. And among anything else, always remember that the healthier and cleaner your diet is, the better your body will respond in the ways you hope for.
