“Fight Night” Winners for UFC on FX 5 Announced

“Fight Night” winners for "UFC on FX: Browne vs. Bigfoot" event each received a cash bonus of $40,000
UFC officials have announced last friday’s UFC show, “UFC on FX: Browne vs. Bigfoot” event’s “Fight Night” winners. The event was held at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, last Friday.
TUF 12 finalist Michael Johnson was awarded with “Knockout of the Night” , while Justin Edwards got the “Submission of the Night” and prelim fighters Diego Nunes and Bart Palaszewski both got the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
Each fighters received a cash bonus of $40,000 for their exemplary performance in their respective bouts.
The televised event was aired in two parts. The main card was aired on FX, while the prelims was shown on FUEL TV.

UFC featherweight fighter, Tyson Griffin, is setting up a charitable raffle promo for the Boys Town of Nevada prior to his UFC 137 match.
Prior to his UFC 137 match, Las Vegas resident – Tyson Griffin – decided to make a special giveaway for the benefit of Nevada’s Boys Town. The fighter will conduct a raffle on his official website, and the grand prize winner will get a ticket for UFC 137’s event and the fighter’s after party. Every donation worth $25 is equivalent for a raffle entry, and all proceeds will go to the state’s Boys Town.
Tyson Griffin’s manager, Tom Call, said that it is their way of giving back because they want to set new standards on how fighters can contribute to their communities. He also added that more fighters from Impact Fight Management will be doing charitable works as their tournaments approach.

A featherweight bout between Tyson Griffin vs Bert Palaszewski was added to the UFC 137 fight card.
A new match was added to the upcoming UFC 137 fight card, which will take place in Las Vegas. The said tournament will feature a featherweight showdown between Tyson Griffin and Bart Palszewski, according to a UFC website post.
Tyson Griffin, who had a career stats of 15-5, is coming off of a victory over Manny Gamburyan on his previous match at UFC on Versus 4. The said match is his first fight at 145 pounds, after he competes at UFC’s lightweight division at the start of his career. Meanwhile, Tyson Griffin’s opponent is a Polish immigrant named Bart Palaszewski. He carries a career stats of 35-14, and will be making his featherweight debut for UFC at UFC 137.
The UFC 137 will highlight a welterweight duel between UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre, and the former Strikeforce titleholder, Nick Diaz, on October 29 at Mandalay Bay.

Rafaello Oliveira will be Gleison Tibau’s new opponent, as he replaces the injured Bart Palaszewski in the coming UFC 130 preliminary lightweight bout.
Rafaello Oliveira, aka “Tractor”, has won against Nik Lentz and John Gunderson via unanimous decision. But he officially resigned to the UFC after his tough loss against Andre Winner by a unanimous decision. Meanwhile, Gleison Tibau’s latest victory was against Kurt Pellegrino via a split decision at UFC 128, where he improve his 22-7 professional record by winning three consecutive fights.

Injured Cody McKenzie will not be able to fight in UFC 130, and stepping on his place will be Gleison Tibau.
Cody McKenzie, who is still injured, will not be able to fight Bart Palaszewski at UFC 130 in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 28. UFC President, Dana White, confirmed yesterday that Gleison Tibau agreed verbally to take the challenge in replacing Cody McKenzie to fight Bart Palaszewski.
Bart Palaszewski, who will make his first fight in UFC, has three consecutive wins and one loss against Kamal Shalorus through a split decision in WEC lightweight division bout. On the other hand, Gleison Tibau has 22-7 win loss record in UFC. The fight look much prettier to the latter who won his fight against Kurt Pellegrino through a split decision last UFC 128 in New Jersey.

Another pair was added to UFC 130: Edgar vs Maynard 3 fight card, as Cody McKenzie and Bart Palaszewski makes a lighhtweight bout on May 28.
TUF 12 quarter-finalist, Cody McKenzie, will meet in a preliminary lightweight bout with Bart Palaszewski at UFC 130: Edgar vs Maynard 3.
Cody McKenzie is on the rebound after suffering a rear-naked choke from Yves Edwards at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 last January. He has secured ten of his 11 career victories by submission. On the other hand, Bart Palaszewski will make his Octagon debut on May 28. He last fought at WEC 53, wherein he dropped a split decision to Kamal Shalorus. Bart Palaszewski secured 27 of his 35 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
