Alexander Volkov will defend his heavyweight title for the first time against Russian countryman Vitaly Minakov in Bellator 108
Alexander Volkov will defend his heavyweight belt for the first time this November 22 against fellow Russian Vitaly Minakov. Volkov has a record of 19 wins in 22 professional fights. He is 3 – 0 with Bellator and is currently riding on a 10 fight winning streak. Volkov won his promotion debut by outpointing Brett Rogers and followed it up with a TKO win over Vinicius Queiroz. He won his heavyweight strap by defeating Richard Hale for the vacant Bellator heavyweight title last December.
His opponent, Vitaly Minakov is unbeaten in his entire professional career. He has stopped 11 out of his twelve opponents with 9 of those stoppages coming in the first round. He has won Bellator’s summer tournament to earn his shot at the heavyweight title.
