Bout with Chris Leben is a must win for Uriah Hall
Uriah Hall will be cut in the UFC if he loses his next fight
Ultimate Fighter season 17’s Uriah Hall is in for the most important fight of his life, a fight that he needs to win in order to keep his slot in the UFC.
Uriah Hall, a native of Jamaica, has been one of the most talked about fighter coming from the reality series. He has delivered several highlight reel knockouts in his stint in the TUF. His first round destruction of Adam Cella was dubbed by Dana White as the most brutal knockout in the entire history of the series. Hall went on to finish Bubba McDaniels in the first round of his succeeding fight. He was again praised by Dana White as the most dangerous fighter to ever come out of TUF. His coach Chael Sonnen added that Hall is a future contender in UFC’s middleweight division.
The finale of the series was the start of the downfall of Hall’s career. He was heavily favored to win against his team mate Kelvin Gastelum but was narrowly outpointed due to the lack of activity on his part. He then fought returning UFC fighter John Howard in a lackluster fight where he also lost via split decision.
Hall now has his back against the wall as Dana White has hinted that he must win or he will be cut from the promotion.
“I don’t ever think of matches as the loser leaves town unless you’re talking about Uriah Hall’s next fight.” said the UFC president. “Uriah Hall needs to win a fight or Uriah Hall will be leaving town.”
It seems now that the Jamaican will be fighting for his job in his upcoming fight. He is expected to face fellow Ultimate Fighter alumnus Chris Leben in the cards of the rematch between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman in UFC 168.
