Two UFC 149 Fighters Suspended for Positive Drug Test Results

UFC 149 fighters, Matt Riddle and Francisco Rivera, were handed out with a 90 day suspension

UFC 149 fighters Welterweight Matt Riddle and featherweight Francisco Rivera both received 90 day retroactive suspensions for testing positive on drugs on the day of their fight, held last July 21.

Riddle tested positive for marijuana, while Rivera tested positive for using an over-the-counter stimulant. Their suspension will last until Sunday, October 21.

The two did not bother to appeal their sentence, instead they apoligized for their wrongdoings.

Riddle defeated Chris Clements in their bout, earning him the Submission of the Night” bonus. While Rivera defeated Roland Delorm with a KO victory at the first round of their bout.

UFC 149 was held at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
