Medical Suspensions Handed out to UFC on FX 5 Fighters

Danny Castillo receives an indefinite suspension after knockout loss to Michael Johnson.

The has issued medical suspensions to selected fighters, last Wednesday. The event was held at the Target Center in Minneapolis, last Friday.

Among those who received a medical suspension was lightweight fighter Danny Castillo. Castillo suffered a second round knockout loss to Michael Johnson. He received an indefinite suspension which bans him from fighting for 60 days. He has to seek a neurological clearance from a physician befor he is allowed to step on the Octagon.

on FX 5’s main card was televised by FX, while its preliminary card was aired on FUEL TV.

Main Card (FX)

Travis Browne: Mandatory 30 day suspension with no contact for 14 days for precautionary reasons due to a TKO.
Jay Hieron: Mandatory 30 day suspension with no contact for 14 days due to lacerations.
Jussier Formiga: Mandatory 30 day suspension with no contact for 14 days due to a TKO.

Preliminary Card (Fuel TV)

Danny Castillo: Suspended indefinitely until neurological clearance, regardless mandatory 60 days suspension with no contact for 45 days due to a knockout.
Aaron Simpson: Mandatory 60 day suspension with no contact for 45 days due to a knockout.
Diego Nunes: Mandatory 45 day suspension with no contact for 30 days due to a laceration.
Bart Palaszewski: Mandatory 45 day suspension with no contact for 30 days due to a laceration.

*Remaining UFC on FX 5 participants also received a mandatory seven-day suspension.
