Frank Mir Pulls Out of Bout Versus Daniel Cormier Due to an Injury
Frank Mir was supposed to crossover from UFC to Strikeforce in his supposed to be heavyweigh fight versus Daniel Cormier
According to reliable sources, Mir has suffered from a knee injury, forcing him to withdraw from his scheduled fight. It’s still not clear whether his replacement has been found.
Mir was supposed to be the first active UFC fighter to crossover to Strikeforce. Ex UFC champ Tim Sylvia, was originally set to fight Comier but the fight did not materialzed.
Mir and Comier were set to headline a heavymeight title match at the “Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir” event which will be held at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City on November 3. The show will be aired both on Showtime and Showtime Extreme.
Mir replaced Alistair Overeem at UFC 146, where he lost to Junior Dos Santos via a second-round TKO. While Comier, recently defeated Josh Barnett and bagged the heavyweight title at Strikeforce’s heavyweight grand prix.View Article Source »
