Anderson Silva Steps In to Save UFC 153
Anderson Silva is set to face Stephan Bonnar at the main event of UFC 153
Featherweight champ Jose Aldo has pulled out from his main event bout versus Jose Aldo, after suffering from a foot injury. While former champ Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson also withdrew from his scheduled light heavyweight bout with Glover Teixeira, due to an elbow injury.
The UFC show will now feature a light heavyweight match between Silva and TUF 1 finalist Stephan ‘The American Psycho’ Bonnar as the show’s main event.
An official announcement was made at UFC.com.
“Already 2-0 in the UFC at light heavyweight, pound for pound king Anderson Silva will head 20 pounds north once more on Saturday, October 13 to meet former Ultimate Fighter finalist Stephan Bonnar in the new three-round main event of UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.The news was broken by USA Today on Wednesday evening.”
