Georges St-Pierre Receives Medical Clearance to Train
UFC Welterweight Champ Georges St-Pierre last fought at the main event of UFC 129
UFC Welterweight Champ Georges St-Pierre finally seeked a medical clearance to begin his training for his long awaited Octagon return. GSP announced this exciting news through his Facebook and Twitter account.
“Yesterday was the final chapter of my Road to Recovery- I’m now medically cleared to compete in professional mixed martial arts! Big thanks to all my fans for the amazing support during those 9 long months of rehab- couldn’t have done it without you. Also special thanks to Dr. ElAttrache and Heather at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic + Gavin MacMillan at Sport Science Lab. I’ve been so lucky to work with such professional and kind people and I’ve learned a lot from them. It’s been an incredible experience. Rendez-vous le 17 novembre, UFC 154, Montréal!!!”
He was last seen in action at the main event of UFC 129, where he defeated Jake Shields via unanimous decision. He injured his knee while training in December of last year. He tore his ACL while preparing for his supposed-to-be bout against Nick Diaz at UFC 143. He was replaced by Carlos Condit in that bout.
He is expected to be ready by November 17, 2012 in order to face Condit, who is the current interim title holder, at the main event of UFC 154, which is set to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.View Article Source »
