Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen Moved to UFC 148 in Las Vegas
The much anticipated rematch between middleweight champ Anderson Silva and his top contender Chael Sonnen is the new headlining bout for UFC 148 in Las Vegas.
UFC President Dana White has officially announced that the much anticipated rematch between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and his top contender Chael Sonnen will no longer take place in Brazil but in Las Vegas as the headlining bout for the UFC 148.
White made the decision to move to fight due to a scheduling with the United Nations’ “Rio +20″ meeting which presented the promotion with ‘a number of obstacles such as lack of hotel rooms available for that date and ‘political pressure’ from Brazil’s local officials.
He also revealed that Brazil’s very own Silva was not too happy about the decision, but eventually agreed to take the fight in Las Vegas to defend his title against Chael Sonnen in one of this year’s most talked about rematch.View Article Source »
