Alistair Overeem Faces Battery Charge

UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem faces one count of misdemeanor battery after allegedly shoving a woman.
UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery after allegedly shoving a woman in the face. The said incident took place at the Wynn Casino in Los Angeles on January 2nd, just days after the UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem event.
Overeem, who is yet to comment on the issue, is accused of shoving a woman in the face, which caused her to “stagger back”. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 21, and will be represented by a well-known Las Vegas criminal defense lawyer, attorney David Chesnoff.
If proven guilty, Overeem could face a maximum sentence of six months in a detention center and a maximum of $1,000 fine.
